My self-summary
I am a writer and very passionate about my art and my teaching. I am also an avid reader and have a very active mind. I loved being in graduate school where I felt I was really pushing my brain to its limit. I have been dedicated to yoga and meditation for over a decade, which helps me maintain a healthy perspective on my life and others. It also helps me to be self-aware and to temper my reactions to and expectations of others.

I am a foster parent for tiny kittens who are too small and young to be adopted. I usually have them for a few weeks to months until they are two pounds. They are precious and hilarious and an awesome perk to hanging out with me :-)

I have lived in the Berkshires and in the mountains of Arizona, and I have lived in Manhattan, and I find Boston to be a really good compromise between city and country living, with all the access to culture but with a garden in the front yard and egg-laying chickens in the back.

I am definitely a mix of love for city and for farm/country life - I love nice restaurants and contemporary art as well as living in a cabin undisturbed by 'culture.' I'm equally happy getting dressed up and going to a party, dancing, or to a show, as I am staying in sweats all weekend and reading the New Yorker, cooking, and lying in my perfectly cloud-like bed.
What I’m doing with my life
I write and teach writing and literature. I feel really lucky to have a fun and fulfilling job, and absolutely adore my students.

I am cooking and eating quality food, adventuring in nature, reading, writing, sitting around a campfire, sleeping out on the beach, and helping friends on their farms. I often find myself taken by the out of ordinary.

I have a strong meditation practice that I'm committed to, and would love to share the depth and benefits of that practice with a partner.

I used to lead backpacking trips; and camping, hiking, biking, and walking in the woods continue to be a major source of unwinding and joy.
I’m really good at
listening, being curious about people, punning, cooking, baking, I have a weird passion for organizing things like desk drawers and the contents of refrigerators, feeling, knowing and expressing how I feel, speaking up, oh and just millions and millions of other things.
The first things people usually notice about me
Depends whether or not I'm wearing clothes.

You should message me if
You have the sense of humor of Louie Ck, the smarts of Tina Fey, or the neuroses of Woody Allen. You are warm, intelligent, kind, have a streak of dark humor, and are able to communicate openly. You are successful in some corner of the world, and you are proud of the work you do.

Please don't message me saying solely, "hi, hey, or what's up." I will not respond.
