My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am a single parent and a teacher. As much as I enjoy teaching at the graduate level, I believe that education at the elementary level is much more important. The earliest years of everyone's life are the most crucial years.

I have traveled extensively in the United States and abroad. Currently, I take my eight-year-old daughter on many "adventures." We enjoy camping in National Parks, and we also enjoy staying at nice resorts on beaches (see photos).

I seek a woman who wants to share the rest of her life with someone. I am a kind and loving man, and I want to share my life with someone. I also think it would be good for my daughter to have more of a nuclear family and it would be even better if she gains a sibling or two. Furthermore, I hope that you will want to share an occasional adventure such as road trips to exciting places. For that matter, my daughter and I are always thinking of new places to go. What is the one place on earth that you most want to visit?
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
The highest priority in my life is to be a good father. My greatest hope for my daughters future is that she have a happy life. As a teacher, I thrive on continually learning new things. As a biochemist I am gaining insight into how life works in atomic detail. Currently am rebuilding a research project toward studying the relationship between cancer and aging. I would enjoy discussing my research with you. It is pretty exciting.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I am really good at communicating. Telling stories and jokes about the chemistry of life is fun. You might think that medical students would not like biochemistry. However, they consistently evaluate my teaching with comments such as: amazing, wonderful, good jokes, enthusiastic, etc. To be fair and balanced (unlike Fox News), I must also acknowledge that consistently some evaluations complain: "I do not understand his lectures."
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I think it is my sense of humor which is original and unusual. When my daughter is around she often tries to help by explaining: "Daddy is just making a joke." My brother has a sense of humor that is even more original and unusual than mine.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Shows: Steve Colbert, documentaries about ancient history, archaeology, astronomy, and physics on educational channels. Music: Pink Floyd, Beatles, Jethro Tull, John Denver, live pipe organ music especially Bach. Food: Indian buffets, Sushi, seafood. Books: Lately I read mostly medical research papers and children's books. Movies: I like almost all types of movies excluding horror movies.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My daughter. My mind. Mobility. Nature. Income. Friends. The ability to count to six accurately.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
My daughters future.
Education in America and worldwide.
Molecular models of life.
Current events.
The environment.
Ancient history.
Planning adventures with my daughter.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
My daughter spends exactly half of her time with me. As part of the schedule, I spend alternate Friday nights and corresponding weekends with her. I spend the other Friday night and weekend alone. It is a good time to catch up at work, do laundry, clean my apartment, and rest. I hope to find someone to spend some of that extra time with.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have been kidnapping space aliens.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
I hope to hear from you if you like children. If you want to share in a family life. If you enjoy going to movies, festivals, museums, and beaches. If you would like to go on road trips as a complete family, perhaps camping trips to national parks. If you want to build a life-long relationship. I enjoy philosophical discussions with people of all beliefs. I am fascinated by ancient history and by the development of religions. However, you probably will not like me if your God is the center of your life or if you seek a partner to share a rigid religious belief system. Although I was raised in a large extended family of Christian "fundamentalists," I am not religious. Instead, I am a scientists. As a biochemist, I understand how life evolved on earth.
