My self-summary
I've lost about 75 pounds in nine months. I have about 50-60 more to go. It feels incredibly weird being a larger guy that's into fitness, but I really love it.

Four things that are super important to me -

Comic Books: I love reading in general, but comics have a special place in my heart. They've evolved so much from being just for kids. I get excited when I read them: there are issues of privilege in X-Men, Saga is an awesome space opera that combines Star Wars, Romeo and Juliet and A Sword of Fire and Ice. They make me think and I love it.

Movies: There is a movie out there for everyone and I think that's rad. I love sitting around after a night of grilling and watching the absolute worst movies ever with a few beers and a few friends. I enjoy most movies; I have no idea how people limit themselves to one genre. My best friend and I sometimes will sit down and watch extremely serious movies and make fun of the movie. It becomes pretty hilarious. The more serious the movie, the more we make fun of it while we watch it.

Being Outside: Being outside feels so amazing. I spent five years working in a call center at night, going to and from work. I didn't see the sun, I wasn't outside and I was miserable. I think that spending more time outside and enduring the weather has made me a much happier person. If I'm out eating with people at a restaurant, if it is remotely nice, I'm the one to say “SIT US OUTSIDE!”

Henry Rollins: I grew up without a father and at a young age my mother told me: “The good part about having a father that didn't want to be there for you, is that you get to pick who your male role models are.” For me, the person that I started looking up to is Henry Rollins. I've never met the man, I've just read his poetry and listened to him talk. He's helped shape my view on living, morality and friendship.

My Job: I make people coffee. I get to move around all day and talk to people. I don't think that jobs can get much better than that. Both talking to people and moving around are pretty healthy things. The job is low stress and we have some pretty rad regulars.
What I’m doing with my life
I work, I go to class and that is all very normal and can be pretty boring. I'll argue with my best friends about: comic book characters, movies, and silly things in general. The arguments get pretty exciting and usually end with us laughing about it.

I think one of the most important things that I actually do is get out daily and take the bus. My 30 minute walks to the bus stop and the ten minutes I spend waiting are often times some of the best part of my day. I get to enjoy how beautiful the weather really is. The bus rides give me opportunity to have short conversations with people that I wouldn't otherwise have. It lets me feel all very real and in tune with life.

Life is exciting.
I’m really good at
I think I'm great at enjoying everyday life and being able to make magic out of the mundane. I don't believe in bad days, just challenging ones.
The first things people usually notice about me
My beard. It isn't crazy or outrageous. I only say this because I was at a Target in North Austin looking for some shorts and a man walking around came up to me and said "I like your beard, it works. Trust me, I'm from New York." I think he was trying to break in a pair of jeans before buying them, but I can't really be certain.

Lately, I've been listening to the Bastion soundtrack, it is pretty epic. Other then that, I listen to a ton of rap and alternative rock, a little bit of almost everything here and there. I'm pretty sure the only genre I won't touch is smooth jazz.
The six things I could never do without
The Pacific Ocean - something about being able to smell it in the air. It is kind of ridiculous.
Intelligent Hip Hop- Look up Scroobius Pip, listen to his album No Commercial Breaks. Have your life altered. Win.
My Mum - She knits me hats with eat flaps so I stay warm in the winter. She also reminds me that guns, bitches and bling were never part of the four elements and they never will be.
Irish Spring - Gotta love that smell.
Backpack - Walking everywhere, it helps to have a backpack for those "oh shit" moments. Extra shoes, clothes, flash light, water bottle. So nice.
Glasses - Not because they're required for me to see(even though they are), I just think that I look better with my glasses on then with them off.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Quotes really get my brain running around.

"Someone once told me the definition of Hell: The last day you have on Earth, the person you became will meet the person you could have become." - Anon
"I am going to look at the stars. They are so far away, and their light takes so long to reach us...All we ever see of stars are their old photographs." - Dr. Manhattan
"I believe that today more than ever a book should be sought after even if it has only one great page in it. We must search for fragments, splinters, toenails, anything that has ore in it, anything that is capable of resuscitating the body and the soul.” - Henry Rollins
On a typical Friday night I am
Cracking jokes at work; "thanks a latte" usually is said about one hundred times.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I think that if you believe in love at first sight, you never stop looking.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 18–30
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
If you're even remotely thinking about it you should just message me. If it is just to say "hey, you seem cool." I'll probably say "hey, thanks."
