My self-summary
I've lived in Seattle for five years but I'm a New Yorker in my soul, which means I cross the street when no cars are coming and I know how to properly make room on a crowded bus.

I'm a writer and activist and comedian, and an "ambivert," which, I recently learned, is an introvert-extrovert hybrid.

I have been referred to as "a dynamo" and told that I "add spice to the office."

I love telling the truth, art, going to the movies by myself, learning about social justice, and anything (or anyone) that's a true original.

I'm a Brooklyn girl, I may take some gettin' used to.
What I’m doing with my life
Trying to stay active in the social justice/activism scene and applying for world-changing jobs that excite me, as I work at my inoffensive but not world-changing job to pay the bills. Using the gym as an excuse to watch trashy TV. Writing, reading, and drawing- I end up doing at least one of these every day.

And, of course, maintaining my gorgeous complexion.
I’m really good at
matching my earrings with the rest of my outfit, twisting my ankle, Bananagrams and Taboo.
The first things people usually notice about me
My glasses and curly hair.

I also laugh like a goose. It's really, really hot.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books/Writers: Appointment in Samarra, Lenny Bruce is Dead, short stories by Amy Hempel and Alice Munro, Crime and Punishment, Raymond Chandler, Then We Came to the End, Einstein's Dreams, whatever sociological or political thing catches my eye, Flannery O'Connor, James Baldwin, also I like being in bookstores just to be like, okay, nobody panic, they're still here.

Movies: Midnight Cowboy, Annie Hall, The Graduate, The Hudsucker Proxy, A Serious Man, Bicycle Thieves, Singin' in the Rain, With a Friend Like Harry, Back to the Future Trilogy, Festen, anything with Cary Grant, or tap dancing, and anything adorable and Scandinavian.

TV: We all like the same stuff. I like the good stuff too because, like you, I have impeccable taste.

Music: Desert Island Top Ten- Van Morrison, Violent Femmes, Beatles, Bob Dylan, Jay-Z (did you find the quote?), Harry Belafonte, The Shirelles, Velvet Underground, Belle and Sebastian, Sam Cooke

Food: popcorn, and most other things besides popcorn.
The six things I could never do without
A pen in good working order; I can't decide between books and movies; crossword puzzles (New York Times Sundays, cause I don't eff around); glasses; comfortable shoes; the semicolon
I spend a lot of time thinking about
potential standup comedy material, books I want to read, and how badly I want to live in Montreal at some point.
On a typical Friday night I am
at work, for a while... my job involves doing some stuff while I sit alone in a giant office building downtown with a spectacular view. Then movies or friends or something like that.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I don't have a driver's license. Some people get all weird about this instead of noting, correctly, that it's at worst pretty inconsequential, at best, quaint and endearing!
