My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Intelligent. Sharp sense of humor. Pleased to be a Dad (especially to THESE kids!). Truly enjoy the company of women. Questioning. Known to defend one's ideals. Loyal. Healthy sceptic (yes, to those who notice...I prefer the olde Inglush spelling). Very communicative.

I must kayak, hike, zip-line, sky-dive, and leap tall buildings at least twice a day. You must be able to keep up with me in this way, or I will consider you a couch potato.

OK, to get real: I've done two of the activities listed above a number of times (substitute canoeing for kayaking on some). A zip line could be in my future. The dive and leap less likely. I'm more likely to be walking through a Trustees of Reservations site with my kids, bringing my naturalist son to a vernal pool in the dark to lift logs in search of salamanders, or all the kids up to Maine to my good friends' lake retreat to mooch, renting some skis once or maybe twice with them in the actually going with one to a Red Sox game today, which is not a usual event (and I am far from your typical "guy," since I do not follow professional sports, although I can enjoy a Celtics game on TV if encouraged)...I do, however, regularly attend my children's sport events, it's a Dad-like thing I enjoy doing. I like to travel given the op, and have been to Europe (Spain once, and 7 other countries when I was 23 and hiking across Europe for 10 weeks solo), cross-country (it's been more than half a lifetime on that, would love to do again), multiple visits to the Napa Valley and Florida, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, St. Maarten, etc. But I like to travel with a I'm currently in a latency period for this type of thing.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Continuing to be a Dad to my 11, 15, and 18-year old. In school to get my Masters in Teaching English to grades 9-12. (Update: Changed my mind 6 credits short of the degree...!) Still a radio host (WMBR at MIT) after 24 years of volunteering in that super fun capacity! I've been told I'm especially versatile in the art of the interview (have engaged, most notably, Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull), Richard Thompson, Loudon Wainwright III, Leo Kottke, Al Kooper, Jonathan Richman, hundreds of others). Finally answering to no one, but excited to get to know someone who does not demand. In other words: control demons, begone! Women of heart and mind, come hither!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
"They" say I have good ears. Seems pretty accurate. The ears held me in good stead when running a record label for 10 years. They are certainly helpful when I'm putting together coherent sets of music on air. And I promise I will lend them to tend to your words, oh future partner of note. I also have a talent for writing, or so I've been told since age 8, when I was whipping off all those Batman stories and reading them to my third grade class. And I've become fairly skilled at putting others at ease, never more so than in this unexpectedly new turn my life has taken. No one has run away screaming from me yet!
The first things people usually notice about me

The blue eyes. Yes, got "Best Eyes" for Senior Superlatives in high school. So did my brother, one of my sisters...and the other sister scooped "Best Looking." I felt bad for her.

Music: Richard Thompson, Nick Drake, Joanna Newsom, Zombies, Charles Mingus, Sandy Denny, Neil Young, Big Dipper, Frank Zappa, Midlake, Cate Le Bon...and the list could go on and on. Music is my passion.

Books: Magister Ludi (Hesse), Desolation Angels (Kerouac), The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test (Wolfe), The Devils (Dostoyevsky), Dune (Herbert), A Prayer for Owen Meany (Irving), various music bios...huh...this list seems a bit adolescent. I'm thinking most of the writers above blew my mind when I was a young age. Currently In the midst of a Carl Jung autobiography and an Updike classic. There, that's more adult, no?

Movies: The Player (Altman), Fargo (Coen Brothers), A Single Man (Ford), Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (Capra), Local Hero (Forsyth), The Godfather, The Godfather Part II (Coppola), Melancholia (von Trier), The Imitation Game.

Shows: The Good Wife, Mad Men, GOT, The Walking Dead...TV has become an outlet for excellence...finally!

If we're talking shows on the town, sure: live music, film, an occasional play or dance performance. I dig the arts.

Food: Nothing like lobster in the summer...but pretty much anything (however, I have this urge to banish forever from the kingdom of man she/he who forged the word "foodie"...ow, it hurts to even write it).

On a typical Friday night I am

you feel pretty. Oh so pretty. You feel pretty and witty and bright.

And think I am too.

And after you've hopefully read some of my answers to those OKC questions. That never hurts.

And if you love drama.

Heh. I kid.
