I am sugar, spice, and all things nice.

My Self-Summary

... and, optimistic, empathetic, quite philosophical (my latest rant has been on whether those perceived as being 'evil' ever realise that they are indulging in evil activities), and apparently an eccentric (not an adjective which I'd prefer to describe myself as, but then perhaps my friends are wiser), the after-effect of spending just too many years at two certain universities. But, to be honest, I am not that fond of tagging myself with adjectives...

I've joined Okcupid mainly for the wonderful tests since I am rather introspective (and my test results, in itself, should illustrate the type of person I am- which I reckon is probably going to scare away a sizeable number of profile visitors). Having said that, I wouldn't be averse to making new friends, especially if you'd like to discuss all things under the sun, including history, environment, geography, literature, architecture, and music (preferably classical)!

What I’m doing with my life

mainly research, soul-searching, and introspection, but also learning to appreciate each and every blessing, as well as welcoming any opportunity which allows me to enjoy life and laugh a little bit more!

I’m really good at

being empathetic, organising (especially surprise parties), debating, juggling too many hobbies/interests at the same time, daydreaming (don't we all?), procrastinating, learning new languages (there are a few more which I haven't listed :p ), ... and a few more.

The first things people usually notice about me

Apparently, my eyes and smile. :-)

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Books are my best friends, and it is hard to list just a few, or to rate them as well since each has its own uniqueness. Perhaps what stands out are the Bible (KJV), works of Austen, the Bronte sisters, Dickens, Hardy, Eliot, Wilde, Carroll, Shakespeare, Verne, Wells, Shaw, Coleridge, Wordsworth, Tolkien, CS Lewis, and most poetry/drama before the 1940s, and more contemporary authors such as Forsyth, Baldacci, and Grisham.

Movies: (to list a very few) Shawshank Redemption, Mr Magorium's Wonder Emporium, Merchant-Ivory movies, international movies... in fact, movies of most genres as long as it's not too cheesy.

Music: All except hard rock, metal, rap and reggae.

Food: Any, from any part of the world, except those which ensure clogging up of arteries!

The six things I could never do without

1. Healthy food
2. Electricity
3. Music
4. Computer
5. Books
6. Hope

I spend a lot of time thinking about

the future, hopes, dreams, plans, observations, philosophies....

On a typical Friday night I am

meeting up with friends for a drink/dinner/movie...

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I tend to be pretty tolerant, but cannot tolerate blatant cruelty to flora/fauna/humans. I don't like schemers, schmoozers, and manipulators either.
