I wish I could say I was an astronaut or that I invented flying cars (or even drive one - science is letting me down on that one), but I guess I'm doing alright as a land bound citizen. Seriously, what are the odds of being an astronaut anyway? If anyone from NASA is reading this though I'm 100% available for astronaut duty.
In my highly biased opinion I'm a pretty good guy. I'm just looking to make a connection with someone like everyone else but would like something stable and serious if it happens. I haven't had much luck with women on here but you never know.
What I’m doing with my life
Growing an awesome beard, mountain biking or city biking everywhere, kicking it at a dive bar (probably playing pool), attempting to meditate, and trying to brew the perfect IPA (requires a lot of field research). I love being outdoors and camping - it would be nice to find someone who wants to do that stuff.
I’m really good at
Yeah, yeah I know you hate math, but I'm freakishly good at crunching numbers. Also card games, board games, pool, brewing, puzzles, parallel parking, and sleeping on the BART without missing my stop.
The first things people usually notice about me
I feel like this is one of those questions where people just make stuff up. Honestly, I have no idea what people notice about me first and they probably don't either.
Update: OK it's my beard based on the number of comments I've been getting lately.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I've been doing a lot more reading lately and I've always been kind of a bookworm. I especially love a good survival story and post-apocalyptic or dystopian fiction (which no longer seem very far fetched nowadays).
Movies/TV: Christopher Nolan Batman, Studio Ghibli, Gravity, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Godfather, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Star Wars, and Raiders of the Lost Ark (my personal favorite). I'm a big fan of quirky offbeat sketch comedy like Mr. Show, Portlandia, or Comedy Bang Bang.
Music: I'm a total music geek and always listening to new stuff. I really really dig creative experimental stuff, distorted guitars, and punk music. I'm pretty into Swans right now. Also Pavement, Sonic Youth, R.E.M., Mclusky, Arcade Fire, Deerhunter, Radiohead, Velvet Underground, Kurt Vile, The Men, EL-P, and Spoon to name a few.
Food: I love spicy food especially Thai, Indian, and Burmese. I've learned that I really can't go wrong with Asian food. Sometimes nothing beats a good burger though. And deep dish pizza - thank you Chicago.
The six things I could never do without
If push comes to shove I can do without most things - I'm pretty
resourceful plus I don't really want to bore you with an unoriginal
list. Here's a list of 6 random things that I like:
Sour Patch Kids
Calvin and Hobbes
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Traveling, relationships, undiscovered critters, numbers, alien
worlds, technology, sports, not thinking about stuff, owls, and
bands I will listen to next.
How many things are beyond human understanding - not to undersell
us but I think there are probably a lot.
On a typical Friday night I am
Seeing a live show, enjoying a good beer with friends, trying a new
restaurant, exploring the city, playing pool, or relaxing at home
with a good book or movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Yo no hablo espanol. Or any other language besides English for that
matter. Its a little embarrassing.
You should message me if
You'd rather have a bike bag than a designer bag.
You can make a mean batch of salsa and don't mind sharing your secret (I always mess it up).
You've been obsessively listening to an album and want to spread the word.
