My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm kind of a dilettante. I know a little bit about a wide range of subjects, but not enough to be an expert in anything. The upside is if you want to have conversations about quantum physics, microbiology, computer science, statistics, economics, philosophy, ethnobotany, psychology, and politics all in one night, I'm your man.

I was also raised by the internet, so I love trolling, hilarious photoshops, forums, novelty accounts, memes, cat pictures, video games, etc.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I do research/programming for a Japanese software company

I also write movie and tv scripts in my free time. That's my main 'creative' hobby.

Besides that, I'm living the dream of the early to mid 20's college graduate: Slaving away at a 9-5 office job

If you've seen the show Workaholics, that's pretty much my life right now.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Getting on the front page of reddit, remembering the names of obscure actors, making other people's writing better, amateur psychoanalysis, and learning things quickly.

I also know how to swordfight, for real. I can't watch swordfights in movies or TV shows without noticing how easy it would have been for the other guy to kill the protagonist when he did that twirling backflip slash or whatever.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have a lip ring, so maybe that.

Right now I'm mostly into electronic noise-pop/drone stuff, and indie folk. Current favorites include James Blake, Bon Iver, Burial, Fleet Foxes, and Robyn. The new Crystal Castles is pretty hot too.

I am such a rapid consumer of media that if you name a movie or TV show I've probably already seen it and have a very detailed opinion on its artistic merits

The same statement applies to music and books as well, but to a lesser degree considering the huge pool of artists in those fields
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Remember that old Twilight Zone episode with the meek librarian guy who is the sole survivor of the apocalypse? How he finally gets to live his dream of spending all his days reading books, and then his glasses break?

Last time I saw that episode, it really moved me how tragic that scene was. He gets his wish only to have it snatched away at the last second by a cruel twist of fate. It's supposed to be funny I guess, but I empathized with the guy way too much. Probably because the written word is the only thing I could truly never do without.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Stories, storytelling, mythology, Jungian archetypes, humanistic psychology, higher planes of existence, statistics, and the nature of infinity.

Language is a big one too. Not only because of the writing, but because a lot of my work involves natural language processing / machine learning.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
If it's the first Friday of the month, then I'm either going to be at Art Murmur in downtown Oakland, or Low End Theory in SF.

Otherwise, I'll be talking with my friends on Skype, playing video games, reading, writing, watching a movie, at another random show.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't like 'The Office'
