I am a picker, a grinner, I'm a lover, and I'm a sinner.

My Self-Summary

I don't actually know what to say here. I'm worth knowing. Does that sum it up?

I am a sucker for a sense of humor. Make me laugh. Don't tell me you're funny - just BE funny. I have had enough dates with self-proclaimed "funny" guys who have done nothing but bore me. Sense of humor is a must!

I am liberal, but not a hippie. I am independent, but not frigid. I am indoorsy, but not unadventurous.

You should be smart, but not pretentious. Kind, but not a doormat. Interesting, but not boastful.

Although I am by no means a quiet person, (I have opinions and I voice them when it's appropriate) I don't have a problem holding my tongue in front of your conservative grandma. I bet she'll love me. They all do. ;D

I do expect for you to be interested in what I have to say. I like a good back-and-forth, nothing one-sided. You need to be able to hold up your end of the conversation without needing to dominate it.

I am unapologetically weird. The people I care about seem to be pretty ok with it, so what you think is of no concern to me. :)

Oh, and while I don't drink or smoke anymore, I'm alcohol- and 420-friendly.

What I’m doing with my life

Living, for once!

At the moment, I work at a job that I know I won't be at forever, because I have absolutely no idea what kind of career I want. No matter what I end up doing, though, I am going to be happy doing it.

I go to the gym at least 5 times a week. I don't do anything outrageous, I'm just trying to make myself healthier than I have been.

I’m really good at

Remembering lyrics to songs you forgot existed.

I'm good at making people laugh. I have a pretty obscene sense of humor, and although I try to kid around most of the time, I do know when to be serious. Those not interested in toilet humor, your mom jokes, or dead baby jokes need not apply.

I love knitting, because it relaxes me. I'm also getting pretty good at it. I can carry a tune, and I do enjoy karaoke every now and then.

Really I can do anything that I put my mind to. Nothing holds my interest for very long, though. Go figure.

The first things people usually notice about me

Physically, my green eyes and doughy physique. Also my hair, because while I can't go the "unnatural" colors I really want to because of my job, I go across the whole spectrum of "natural" colors as often as I can.

Also I am VERY easily amused. I laugh a lot.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books. I love them. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy trilogy. Anything by Neil Gaiman or Terry Pratchett. Memoirs. Fantasy novels. Collections of Dave Barry's articles. Post Secret. Lots more I am far too lazy to list. Right now I'm reading The Book of Lost Things by John Connelly. I'm enjoying it immensely!

I. Love. Movies. My tastes range from the very good (Pulp Fiction, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) to the very, very bad (Hot Rod, Mulholland Dr). My favorite genre is comedy, and at the moment my favorite comedies are by Judd Apatow and friends. I'll watch just about anything, once.

There's no section for it, but most people add it in here: Television. I don't watch a lot of TV, mostly I watch movies. When I do watch, I watch these religiously: Glee, Comedy Central, Discovery Channel, and Food Network. I immensely enjoy The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, and The Big Bang Theory. I am fairly obsessed with British Telly, but since you can't watch it legally here, I do my best to find it elsewhere. Right now my favorites are The Mighty Boosh and The IT Crowd but I also really like their quiz shows like Nevermind the Buzzcocks.

I like all kinds of music, and I will listen to almost anything once. Lately, I prefer to listen to kind of punky, techno stuff like Cobra Starship, Say Anything, Robots in Disguise. When I drive around, I like to listen to weird music, like The Lonely Island or Federal Drugs Administration.

My favorite kind of food is Italian. I really like to cook, but am not such a fan of cleaning up afterward. I pretty much watched nothing but food network for 3 months straight, so I have a ton of recipes that I'm pretty good at making. Spinach & Artichoke dip? Mmmmm.

The six things I could never do without

Here's where you typically insert the comment about how you can really live without anything, blah, blah, you really just need air, blah, blah.

Here are 6 things that I would rather not be deprived of:

My phone, internet access, my mp3 player, my friends, fun times during paid time off of work, and my personal space.

Privacy, my teddy bear, and youtube are also up there on the list. Yeah, I have a teddy bear. And what?

I spend a lot of time thinking about

I think pretty much constantly. I have a very loud inner monologue. Sometimes it talks over people, and I need to ask them to repeat what they said.

I try not to think about the game.
DAMN! I just lost the game. :|

On a typical Friday night I am

Having fun. Sometimes at my house, watching a movie. Sometimes at a party or bar.

In the interest of saving money, lately I have been mostly homebound, concentrating on knitting and watching British TV.
I don't feel that it is inhibiting my happiness in any way.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I am terrible at 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon.

I firmly believe that every group of two or more people who hang out on a regular basis should have AT LEAST one inside joke.

I can't re-wear dirty socks. Once they come off, that's IT. They need to be washed and I need another pair.

None of these are very private, but I don't care.

You should message me if

You are that guy I had a crush on in the 5th grade, or someone equally cool.

Or if you have a really funny joke to tell.

Or if you are as obsessed with any of the things in blue as I am.

Or if you are still reading this. Because I honestly wouldn't be surprised if you haven't gotten this far.

Definitely do not message me if you take yourself too seriously. I can't abide by that.

But you should message me because I said so. And I'm always right.
