I have joie de vivre, freckles, and am equal parts fiery and warm. I teach small children and live with the philosophy that all that crayon and innocence needs to be balanced out beyond school hours. I used to live in Italy and love Italian things, maybe a little too much. Maggior punti se parli l'italiano!
What I’m doing with my life
Teaching, remembering recipes from foreign lands, biking, speaking other languages, listening to music and stories, camping, keeping good company, living in the moment. I want to learn to play the ukelele.
The first things people usually notice about me
gingeriness, warmth, raspy voice, smile
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'm loving the new Deerhunter right now. Fetty Wap on repeat. Ryan Adams does Taylor Swift. Black Uhuru, Fleet Foxes, Father John Misty, Beach House, M. Ward, Jolie Holland, Gillian Welch, Tame Impala, Will Oldham, Neil Young, Devendra Banhart, Otis Redding, Andrew Bird, Cuban trios, Delta blues... And I want to dance to dancehall. Always. Also like Drake. Sorry.
"Brazil" by John Updike, Cortázar, Noam Chomsky, Isabel Allende, Anne Sexton, etc. I like reading books that are set in the place that I'm in, like "Walden" when I'm near a pond in Massachusetts or "The Odyssey" when I'm in Sicily. Any suggestions for Bay Area reads?
Dan Savage...read or listen? Yes, to both.
I learned to cook in Italy. Give me reasons to break out my culinary awesomeness.
The six things I could never do without
the lake in my hometown,
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm in a literary society with Jos Whedon, Das Racist and MGMT.
You should message me if
