Way back when, I was living in Brooklyn teaching my fifth grade students about Westward Expansion and thought, "Why not me?" So a year ago, I set out for California in search of gold, but not the kind that you'd think. Rather: sunshine, friends new and old, delicious veggies, sights, etc. It's been splendid. And yes, I run about 150 years late, so keep that in mind if we ever hang out.
I've done this thing before--I lived in Italy for quite a stretch, and stayed long enough to perfect my Sicilian accent, know the ins and outs of the Vatican's sculpture hall and make a mean eggplant parm. But wanderlust is not forever; I'd like to meet a like minded soul to bike, climb, stargaze, meander, converse, cook, and adventure with.
