My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I like stouts, am passionate about education policy and politics, enjoy baking pies, seek out new adventures, guzzle coffee and tea in unhealthy quantities, and spend too much of my time at farmers markets and brunch spots.

I'm equally passionate about school reform as I am about baking pies. I'm committed to striking a healthy work-life balance that will let me enjoy it all. I value a lot of the smaller things in life like: theming thanksgiving, rolling down hills and climbing trees, eating flintstone push-up popsicles well into "adult hood", watching cake decorating videos on YouTube, late-night basketball games, eating every product ever produced by Trader Joe's, google-imaging pictures of cute puppies, watching guilty pleasure tv shows, crossing things off lists, and indulging in an episode of The West Wing before bed.

"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee" - Agent Dale Cooper (Twin Peaks).
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I aspire to do good, always be on an adventure, and forge meaningful relationships with my life. Maybe i've left something out, but I think everything else falls into those buckets.

Career-wise, I'm dedicating my nine-to-five to education policy. Making our system more equitable is a serious challenge and I'd like to make a dent towards progress. I went to Berkeley for undergrad and grad school (go bears!) and now work in ed policy in Oakland.

Work-life balance is important to me. I'm passionate and serious about my work, but I'm also committed to making ample time each day for family, friends, and adventure.

I spend a significant portion of my life brunching (often multiple times a week), reading about and baking desserts, and exploring the outdoors, rock climbing, watching good and bad television, and thinking about all the places I'd like to travel.

On that note, in 2015 I'll be going on a bit of a wold tour. So now, I spend a good amount of time researching all the amazing places I want to see in the world. I've got the most beautiful excel spreadsheet for my trip. If you have any travel recommendations, I'd love to hear it!

Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What it would be like to go on a dog-sledding tour and climb some icebergs in Greenland. The café-bookstore I want to open one day (message me if you want to hear the best name for a café-bookstore ever). How to make our education system more just. How to land flips in bounce houses. Why I called bounce houses "astro jumps" for the better part of my life. When I might be able to get a west highland white terrier. All the places I want to travel to.
