I am happy, forthright, and hippie.

My Self-Summary

I probably have what is an unhealthy love for sprinkles.

I make and sell my own jewerly http://gookygox.etsy.com, a business I did not expect to take off as quickly as it has so far. I'm also a Co-Founder and Excecutive Producer for The Inebriati. We make videos about beer. (You can check us out at http://www.barfiesta.com) Yes, it is pretty fantastic. This craziness happens when you've double majored in Religious Studies and Theatre Arts. And yes, I can discuss both contemporary religious issues and theatre with you. I'm also working on getting my certification in medical imaging, paid for by the state of Illinois. Hooray! I used to volunteer with Chicago 2016 the city's bid for the 2016 Olympics. And for a day job I work in distribution for a payroll company. One of the best and brightest companies to work for in Chicago for the last 5 years!

I love warmer months the best, but I love a lot of the things that come along with the Fall. My favorite part is football. I love the Bears. In terms of college football, I will always cheer for The University of Iowa (go Hawkeyes!). If you could not tell, I’m originally from Iowa and will always consider myself an Iowa girl at heart.

I'm a homebrewer and do most of the administrative work for H-B, an anime based homebrewing group with my friends. This is actually where The Inebriati got its start!

I am very into environmentalism and am even a member of the Sierra Club. I drive a Prius and try to buy local, natural, organic, etc. whenever possible. I also carry my own bags so I don’t use plastic from the grocery store. I love the outdoors, hiking and camping. I must admit that I’m pretty darn good at building a fire. I eat granola, I make my own yogurt, yeah I'm kind of a hippie. I understand not all my habits are for everyone, but I think that recycling is important and don’t understand people who don’t. I'm not vegetarian, but cook mostly vegetarian, save for fish. I am allergic to shellfish, but I've been known to take my chances.

And chances are if we meet, I will probably hug you. Consider yourself warned. ;)

What I’m doing with my life

That's a good question. I'm doing my best to enjoy every day of my life. To live my passions always instead of in spurts.

I spend time with my friends. They are incredibly dear to me, as I do not have family in the area. I'm working on TheInebriati.com and BarFiesta.com, and growing the jewelry business. I'm also working on getting back up to speed with my yoga and of course, studying.

I’m really good at

interviewing, yoga, fire building, pie baking, spatial orientation, problem solving, bottle capping, jewerly making...

The first things people usually notice about me

Smile, eyes, the fact that I am possibly a little overly honest.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: "Eat, Pray, Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert, "Annie on My Mind" by Nancy Garden, "The Flies" and "No Exit" by Jean Paul Sartre, "Life and Limb" by Keith Redding and The Keltiad by Patricia Kennealy

Movies: Wall-E, Wayne's World, Monsters Inc., Shawshank Redemption, Amadeus, A Fei zheng chuan, Serenity, Star Trek: Generations (and yes, I have seen them all!)

Music: Thanks for making me feel lame OkCupid. I like new Hanson, a lot. Also, Missy Higgins, Leona Lewis, Ingrid Michaelson, Sara Bareilles, Colbie Callait, Jason Mraz, Boosty Collins, The Beatles, Maroon 5, Train, Bare Naked Ladies, Tori Amos, Jon Bon Jovi... really I love a lot of music, especially disco (yay for Bee Gee's!, ABBA, etc.)

Foods: sushi... mmm... raw fishes. I love a lot of ethnic food and love to try new things. I do have this thing about texture, so I'm picky about my dim sum. Meatballs should not be gelatinous.

The six things I could never do without

my friends - I moved away from home some time ago so my friends are my family. I'm not sure what I would do without them

family - I love them, no matter what

yoga - It keeps me stable, and focused. It's challenging, energizing and relaxing at the same time. The energy at TBY is something I could not being to describe.

my kitty - she is so adorable and funny - she loves to eat ribbon. She is a lot of fun and loves to play fetch. She is a sweetheart and loves to cuddle.

the internet - I am an information junkie. I love to look up things on the internet. To settle disputes, to learn something new, to brush up on things... it's so much better than having to look stuff up in the encyclopedia. Plus living in Round Lake it is my major connection to the outside world

cuddles - I love to cuddle, to hug... touch is important to me.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

getting the best gas mileage out of my car, having a place of my own again, school, the jewelry business, TheInebriati.com, spending time with my special someone...

On a typical Friday night I am

either at home or (more likely) hanging out with friends. I'm not really into going to clubs or stuff like that, but I love dancing on occasion, especially with the girls!

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm not a super private person, so anything I can think of doesn't seem exciting enough to stand alone-

I love to sing in the car

sometimes when I hear or say the phrase "Oh yeah" I'm secretly thinking about Kool-Aid Man

I own more t-shirts than one woman should

you have a mini trampoline you are trying to get rid of
