I've just finished doing a degree, and am trying to find something else to do. Work in the joys that is customer service. So if you have any homocidal women threatening to blow your home up due to problems with cracked 45p microwave tuppleware, I'm the person to call. Give them 45p, and they'll go away, and your face will be intact.
I read absolutely anything, but have a soft spot for crime/horror/fantasy/sci-fi. Those options tend to spread out across the other forms of media too. Though film-wise comedy tends to be my fave.
I love writing. Short stories are my fave. A lot of people ask me what I write, so here is a link to a blog - full of very badly edited stuff that I am no longer working on :- http://thedreamsofbarddom.wordpress.com/.
But I suppose that doesn't tell you much about me does it - but what I am doing?!
If I could be any magical creature I would be a unicorn...... lol I'd have loved to see your face as you read that sentence. That was a joke, wouldn't choose something so girly - I'd be a fairy!
Erm, very easy going, a little quiet and reserved but childish on times. Love wandering aimless in the sun. Weirdly tolerate of everything - stoic is the word - takes a lot to shock me. Though not a lot to puzzle me. Things like doors mystify me for hours - do you push/pull/ slide/fold.... oh no it's automatic.
I am going over a lot of my poorly edit shorts, and seeing if there are any worth salvaging, and might start writing full time until I find work - it's something to do at least.
Weird obsession with ffxiv.
Also need a new hobby - need to find a part time 'fun' course to fill the void left by uni. Pottery or something.
Lame humour. See above.
Crosswords, got two whole clues in a cryptic puzzle in The Financial Times once upon a time.... :) But seriously like cryptic crosswords as the clue is like a story you have to decipher.
Country lover Pat led civil disorder. See a story, also one of the first clues I truly got and started my obsession.
Resident evil 2?! Sadly I played it so much when it was first out I can still remember the layout, zombie position and ammo stash of Racoon Police Station..... What a skill huh?
I'm also a great listener. Awful at giving advice but can listen.
After I start talking to someone it is usually that I make strange faces, and flail limbs about randomly - as if I am playing the weirdest game of charades ever. Weird looks, laughs and apologise usually ensue.
Book:- Too hard to choose. Dark House by King is good although the Stand has to be his best.. Name of the Wind, by Rothfuss. Nueromancer by Gibson. Life of Pi. Anything by Lovecraft/Pratchett/Giamen/Melville/Gemmel/Moorcock/Asimov/Dick
Am actually doing my dissertation on Terry Pratchett.... so he gets too mentions.
Erm, Robert E Howard's Conan Shorts, The Amber Chronicles by Zealanly, Portrait of Dorian Grey, Dracula, Frankenstein. Oh Shelley, Keats, Byron, Coleridge and Wordsworth. Have to love the romantics. And Tennyson... and Yeats. Quite fond of Shakerspeare - though thats more play.....
Yeah, I read too much.
Shows:- Doctor Who, Walking Dead, Supernatural, Documentaries, Being Human, Game of Thrones, Castle, NCIS, Blake's 7, Revolution, In The Flesh. And the channel known as Dave - tis on almost constantly in my flat. :) Sucker for topical (well was once topical) panel quizzy comedy shows. Comdey shows too. Russell Howard... ect.
Music: The Postal Service, Super Furry Animals, The Manics, Tom McCrae, The Brakes, Weezer, Pavement, Beck, Bowie. Wolfmother, Airbourne, Silver Chair.
Food. My fave would be Italian or Cake. Its a hard choice. I also like indian, and chinese. Thai is okay. Tapas is also cool....... I just like food.
Dunno, a pen, a blank piece of paper.
My freedom maybe, think thats important for everyone.
Something to do.
I am going to sound like a teenage girl, but I have been thinking a lot about vampires - and it is kind of inspired by Twilight. Before you judge wait until I've finished. I am in this circle of horror writers who do a challenge every month to make you write something. A few months ago the challenge was to re-claim the vampire as a monster for the horror genre. It's become something of a personal quest.
I have ideas, and that challenge might just become my single goal in life.
Now its usually tea, candle, sofa and book time!
Or you some cookies... or cakes?! Bribery always works.
Seriously, if you are looking to chat abit, have a bit of laugh, and would one day in the future (not tomorrow, but not in the distant were we live in dystopian paradise presided over super intelligent kettles... it's going to happen, I've seen it in dreams :|)
And you know I'm not totally crazy, and the bonkers part of this profile is just a bad attempt at humour.
