My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I was once asked to picture a place where I would be most content. I imagined being in a coffeehouse with a cup of caramel hot chocolate surrounded by a few other people discussing life. I enjoy hearing about other people and their thoughts and experiences. I like a relaxed environment surrounded by a few friends where we can talk and laugh. I am an intelligent person, and I enjoy the discussion of things grand but practical.

It is worth noting that I also have a lively wit built on wordplay and puns. Almost nothing is beyond the range of my associative abilities and I am as likely to make a joke on a research article as on a blockbuster movie. I would like to meet someone who can at least appreciate my wit and preferably join in.

I am a serious Christian, and I seriously mean that. I have thought very seriously about what I believe, how I live that, and its effect on others. I am well aware of how “Christians” have misrepresented Christ and how they have formed a culture that both adds to and limits what Christianity should be about. This has not led me to abandon the church, but rather to stay connected and form relationships with like-minded people. I would not describe myself as emergent, but in many ways I am very similar to that group of people.

I am inquisitive, humourous, and contemplative
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am a graduate student in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. That does not mean I am training to be therapist or a counselor. I am training to be a researcher and a business consultant. I plan to become a professor someday.

My masters thesis is about how organizations can better use their websites to recruit R&D employees.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
reading research article really fast, teaching underclass students, making powerpoint slides, lecturing, improvising the seasonings for dinner, talking about movies I saw, quoting movies, remembering useless facts, analyzing a situation before I act.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: That Hideous Strength by C. S. Lewis, Return of the Native by Thomas Hardy, Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte, The Silver Hand by Stephen Lawhead, andThe Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkein

Movies: Garden State, Masfield Park, Braveheart, Juno

Music: I am in a singer/songwriter phase, so Ingrid Michaelson, A Fine Frenzy and the soundtrack to the movie "Once" are at the top of my list. I generally listen to adult contemporary music and alternative rock.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
The Holy Spirit,
a journal for writing my thoughts and for writing stories,
the Bible,
the internet - I am always looking up information,

My friend Matt who keeps me from going off the deep end intellectually
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What does it mean to be human? Will science ever be able to perfectly predict people's behavior? What will the Church be like in 10 years and what role will I play in shaping it? What does it mean to be a Christian scientist/psychologist?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
watching a movie from netflix or out with the high school or college age group at my church.
