I moved to Brooklyn a few years ago for an MA program at NYU. I'm done with that now, so now I'm overeducated and underemployed, like everyone else in Brooklyn.

I'm just as interested in making new friends as I am dating. If you just wanna hang out without doing the whole dating thing (I'm talking to you, women and gay men), let me know. I'd be happy to have someone to go to Le Poisson Rouge with. Essentially, I'm looking for an excuse to wear more of my fancy dresses. Nothing like dating to justify wardrobe decisions.

I work in marketing, like everyone else in Brooklyn.

I also occasionally moonlight as a cheesemonger.

Being self-deprecating, finding cheap tickets to things, helping people pick out a cheese plate.

Books: I read everything from bad young adult fiction to psychoanalytic feminist film theory.

Movies: Anything David Cronenberg. Other than that, a healthy mix of artsy films, Oscar bait, and Apatow-style comedies.

Shows: As for shows airing now, I'm super into Parks and Recreation, as well as Community, Downton Abbey, and Doctor Who. I also have a deep and abiding love of British panel shows, QI and Shooting Stars being two of my favorites. If you like Reeves and Mortimer we'll get along juuuust fine.

Music: I really like classical music, particularly twentieth-century avant-garde and minimalist composers. I also listen to an embarrassing amount of showtunes (although it's 90% Sondheim, which I refuse to be embarrassed about). I'm also probably way too into late 90's/early 2000's indie girl pop (Lisa Loeb, Luscious Jackson, Cibo Matto, Liz Phair back when she was good...)

Food: I pretty much like anything that's made well, with the exception of anything containing arugula (which can JUST DIE. I HATE IT SO MUCH.) My cheesemongering job has turned me into quite the cheese snob. My thoughts on triple creams, let me show you them!

Probably out seeing a play or concert. Perhaps getting drinks with friends. Or working.

Most of my celebrity crushes are easily old enough to be my father, if not my grandfather. Is that weird? (Note: this does not mean I want 60-year-old dudes to send me messages. So please stop. Message someone your own age.)
