My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I spend my time playing make-believe with crazy people (theater). I'm a nerd and an artist. I love hanging out with friends, but I also love being alone and exploring books, music, and movies/TV.

Specialties include:
-extroverted introversion
-cooking very well, but not often enough
-Whistling. Constantly, and with a twittering vibrato.

I'm looking to find someone in the same place as me: Not quite an adult yet, but working towards finding that thing that makes you finally grow up and crystalize into something more concrete.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I came to a realization the other day: I'm pretty much doing my dream job. I'm not exactly swimming in money (hahah, career in the arts...), but I love what I do and I'm working closer to the top of my field than I ever thought I would. I get to work on amazing projects, with amazing people and help to create world-class theatre.

For fun I read, cycle, plot the demise of tourists who take up too much sidewalk, and discuss the nature of how much working in theater sucks/rocks (depending on the day) with my friends.

I'm not a happy-go-lucky optimist; I tend more towards the sardonic-pragmatic.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
finding hole in the wall restaurants that other people pass by without a second glance.
walking long distances through the city when I'm bored.
spraining my ankles.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Beard, guaged ears, sometimes I'm the loud guy in the room, and if I'm not I'm probably being rather quiet chatting with one or two people.
If I'm walking down the street with my headphones on I'm either looking sort of sullen, which unfortunately is my "neutral" face, see this (watch to the end for the male description):
http://laughingsquid.com/bitchy-resting-face-a-disorder-that-makes-women-look-bitchy-when-theyre-not/),

or awkwardly laughing out loud to the podcasts in my ears (I'm a BIG fan of storytelling podcasts - I think that the current renaissance of oral storytelling is fantastic).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
The Magicians, 1984, Brave New World, Margaret Atwood, The Expanse Series, The Martian (by Andy Weir. Drop everything, go read it now), Douglas Adams, Douglas Coupland, Neil Gaiman, Vonnegut, The Giver, Harry Potter series (yes I AM a 32 year old man), Dark Tower series. I also read a decent amount of plays for work.

Movies, I see very few movies, but if I had to pick one stand out movie from my life it would be American Beauty.

Shows, 30 Rock, Archer, How I Met Your Mother, Parks and Recreation, X-Files, Six Feet Under.

Music, a lot, all the time. Generally my tastes tend towards dance bandy, electronica, indie rock, americana. Lately there's the new Sufjan (personal subtitle: "the acoustic arpeggiator"), alt-j, also been a lot of Sarah Jarosz, Crooked Still, Elbow, sElf, Temples, Tame Impala, and St. Vincent. Little bit of retrospective love to Harvey Danger right now.
Polymetric Pop.

Food: anything, really. There are only a few dishes I've ever said no to. I like to play the "I don't speak this language" game when I go to restaurants: I just point at things and say "that looks good". I have had a waiter say to me before: "Do you really want that? White people don't like that...". It was a Thai Sour Curry dish. Not something that I'd eat every day but definitely opened up my palate.

Also carnitas, or any low-and-slow cooked meat for that matter.

I would say "cheese" but that's pretty much one of the biggest OKCupid cliches, second only to ladies who "love to laugh". Who doesn't love to laugh? Fucking Nazis, that's who.
[glances at end of profile, sees that I wrote something about loving to laugh....shit]
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
good music, good headphones/in-ears, good shoes and socks for walking, backpack, and water.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The next gig.

How to not ruin music that I love by listening to it too much.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
No such thing. Working, seeing a show, at a bar, to bed early. Any combination of up to two of those.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Sometimes I talk to my roommate's cat in terribly inaccurate regional dialects.

you can make me laugh, like gut busting inappropriate dirty joke laugh.

You speak some nerdy language, be it programming, music, sound, Esperanto, machine code, etc.

You don't foresee wanting children. Big thing for me. Sorry, not my cup of tea.
