My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am loyal, driven and a realistic optimist. I consider the glass one-quarter full.

What sets me apart from other people is that I am extremely loyal and will go out of way to do things for those I care about. I am happy to please someone even if it is something small, because I like cheering up and being useful for others.

Most of the pictures currently on my profile are from my trip to Canada in May.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am roughly halfway through service year in Americorps. I work on a project connecting colleges and universities together to provide services to low-income school districts in the area. In addition to this, I am finishing up a masters thesis looking at state court decisions on Voter ID statues here in Pennsylvania and elsewhere. Sounds positively gripping, right?

I am currently applying to doctoral programs in my field for next fall.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I am very handy with computers and technology. If you want to create a multi-boot system on your computer with server capabilities, I am the one to call.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My blond hair!
When I lived in Venezuela, people would be amazed by this and actually pull at it. It was not very pleasant for me as a four-year-old child though. I lived there for about a year and a half while my family was there for my dad's work.

I can be a little shy when first meeting, but if we can get a good conversation going I warm up quick.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books- I read too many things online and for school to have much "fun" reading these days. In past years, fantasy(Harry Potter, LOTR) and science fiction(Alan Steele, Harry Turtledove) and historical fiction.

Movies- Favorite movies are Shawshank Redemption, as well as the LOTR movies. I generally like comedies and science fiction though. Forty Year Old Virgin, Rat Race, ect. I have a very large movie collection, which this list does not do justice, so if you want to stay in with me for a movie night sometime, I am up for that.

TV Shows- Law and Order of any type(except Criminal Intent) Big Bang Theory, Walking Dead, Doctor Who, Games of Thrones. Also, anything by Joss Whedon(Firefly, Buffy). The Office. Also, random British TV shows(Blackadder, Doctor Who, Yes Prime Minister). I am currently working on West Wing, and wondering how I haven't been watching it years ago. I like sitting down and watching chunks of a season at a time.

Music- I listen to a little bit of everything. Pandora makes it so much easier to have access to anything I want to listen to. People always ask your favorite song or singer/musical group, but it is hard to pick just one favorite when there are so many good songs and musicians out there.

Food- Italian food is my favorite. I am always up for a good cheese steak. I am also a fan of pizza.

Worth mentioning here as well: I love board games. Settlers of Catan, Munchkins, Agricola, Cards Against Humanity. I also like playing Arkham Horror, but never can never get anyone else interested. I also like D&D even though I'm a bit rusty.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1.) Family and Friends
2.) Car
3.) Phone
4.) Internet
5.) A kitchen I can cook in (preferably with a dishwasher)
6.) Freedom
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I am thinking a lot about what I want to do when I am done with my Masters. I also read a lot of random things online, which causes me to think a great deal about these divergent topics.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Recently, about 50/50 odds between drinks with coworkers and Netflix.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't have a thyroid gland, and I have always taken a supplement for this. I am not really secretive about this, just does not normally come up.

I have eaten horse meat. Slightly different than beef, not sure I could tell the difference if made to guess.
