My self-summary
An INFJ, social justice-seeking, technology-taming, dessert-loving nonprofit road warrior unicorn.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a few years out of college (studied sociology and ethnic studies) and i currently do a mix of public awareness/outreach, web development, event planning and social media/marketing for a Portland-based nonprofit. I'm basically in my dream job: I get to use my nerdy computer skills in the service of a worthwhile cause.

When off the clock, I can be spotted in the wild exploring food carts, scouting out scenic but relatively easy day hikes (I'm a softcore hiker, especially by PDX standards), or befriending the neighborhood stray kitty.
I’m really good at
+Obliterating desserts with my face
+Providing a listening ear for others
+Teaching humans to use tech
+Naviguessing mass transit
The first things people usually notice about me
My rather prominent forehead. NASA has designated it an alternate landing site for the Space Shuttle, the Postal Service considered giving it its own ZIP code, and advertisers have rented it out for billboard space.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
BOOKS: I especially enjoy ethnographies, social histories, political techno-thrillers, and ethnic studies and contemporary gender studies and feminist literature. bell hooks and Patricia Hill Collins are my no-hetero intellectual crushes.

FILMS: I tend to like psychological dramas/thrillers, action movies, sci-fi and documentaries about people and society, but I'll watch nearly anything except gratuitously gory horror.

TV: Doctor Who, Parks and Recreation, Firefly, Agents of SHIELD, The West Wing...
The six things I could never do without
+Swiss Army knife
+a good notebook
+writing utensil
+anti-oppression theoretical frameworks
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Tasty foods to cook and/or put in my face-hole, smashing the patriarchy and deconstructing oppression, whether I can conjure up a sufficient level of insanity to apply for grad school, and making long lists of kitty names for when I have non-allergic roommates.
On a typical Friday night I am
Sometimes I'm hanging out with friends over dinner, an excellent scotch and/or a movie. Sometimes I'm recharging by myself, curled up on the couch with a good book. All are pretty fantastic plans, as far as I'm concerned.
You should message me if
+You are unapologetically nerdy.
+You enjoy good whisky, Portland-area hikes, live jazz and/or food carts.
+Feminism informs your perspective on the world.
+You're seeking something more substantive than a flingy throwaway dalliance. Ain't nobody got time for that.
