My self-summary
So, I have good news and I have bad news. The bad news is that I am no longer available. Actually that might not even be bad news. Maybe you weren't really interested in the first place. But then why are you still reading this?

The good news is that the reason I'm not available is I found a really amazing boyfriend on this site. Many of my friends met their wives, husbands or long term partners on here, but I was still skeptical. I saw this site more as a way to practice putting yourself out there and/or kill the odd boring Thursday night, rather than a way to find a partner (even a short term partner). But, then Tyler turned up. His profile was terrible but his message was sincere, so I wrote him back. 5 months later, I can't imagine my life without him. So best of luck to you all. Hopefully you'll all find someone equally amazing. It is, strangely, possible.

So, why the hell am I telling you this instead of just taking my profile down 1) thought you might like to hear the good news for once, because I'm sure you've heard about plenty of nightmare dates, maybe even been on a few. Let's face it, dating blows. Maybe this will give you a reason to keep at it. 2) I have friends ask me for help with their profiles sometimes, but I need an active profile to view theirs. In case your curious, below is my profile the way it was when I stopped using the site.

***********************************************

I cook professionally, which is intense, exhausting and amazingly fun! Before food became my primary creative outlet, I wrote and produced radio drama. I love being part of Oakland's vibrant food scene, but I wish I still had time for sound design. I'm definitely an audio person. The sound of the world intrigues me!

As a writer, I'd rather demonstrate all my delightful quirks than tell you about them but - in the interest of brevity - here's the dreaded list: I have a sardonic sense of humor, am fiercely loyal, stubborn, & my tendency to be very direct gets me in trouble on occasion. A sense of community is important to me. I have a lot in common with my rottweiler, although he's a terrible cook.

"It's a big beautiful world, and I want it all," - Anthony Bourdain
What I’m doing with my life
I own a catering company and I feel incredibly lucky to have a career that excites me!

When I'm not in the kitchen, I enjoy hiking, wild places, geeking out about craft beer and trying to support the many artistic endeavors of my friends. When I'm alone, I tend to devote myself to inane pet projects, like writing short stories no one will ever read or creating a custom Cards Against Humanity deck with lots of in jokes.
I’m really good at
Cooking, telling stories, managing chaos, getting shit done.
The first things people usually notice about me
I laugh easily and use the word "fuckin" as a hesitation device.

Actually, those are the the things I WISH people noticed first. In reality, it's probably my boobs. They're... noticeable.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music - I had a blues show on KZSC for years. I'm also into classic rock and old school punk. Some favorites are: R.L. Burnside, The Clash, Modest Mouse, The Black Keys, Drive-By Truckers, Iggy Pop, Warren Zevon, Flogging Molly, and Patti Smith

Movies - I love anything with Zombies and generally hate chick flicks. Favorites include: Shaun of the Dead, Run Lola Run, Pan's Labyrinth, Fear and Loathing in Las Vagas, O Brother Where Art Thou, Monty Python, and anything with Rifftrax

Shows - Firefly, Futurama, Dr. Who, Sherlock, Chopped, 30 Rock, Arrested Development, Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, Walking Dead

Books - The Song of Ice and Fire Series, Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Lady Sings the Blues by Billie Holiday, and basically any by Hunter S Thompson, Bukowski or Bradbury. I've read way too much Stephen King and the complete works of Shakespeare cover to cover. Love the comedies, hate the sonnets.

Food - Good food is like good sex, but far less complicated!
On a typical Friday night I am
I usually work late, then maybe grab a beer with friends.

If it's one of those rare Friday evenings I'm not working, I'm probably off on some random adventure (think Tarantino meets A Prairie Home Companion).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I spent a good chunk of my childhood without electricity.
I’m looking for
  • Guys and girls who like bi girls
  • Ages 25–36
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
Uh-oh... more lists!

I'd love to meet someone who's:
- Emotionally stable & sane
- Not afraid of dogs
- Intelligent
- Honest
- Good at making me laugh
- Relatively independent
- Adventurous
- Coherent (I get a ton of messages like, "hey hawty how ru wanna met?")

Additional notes:
- Talent and creativity are huge turn-ons
- I have a weakness for musicians (especially bass players)
- I think good whiskey is sexy
- I'm pretty nocturnal. Huge points if you are, too.
- I'm not a girly girl. The good news is that means I'm super low maintenance. The bad news is I don't know (or care) if these shoes are "cute," most of my male friends treat me like one of the guys, and I have been known to show up to date covered in flour.
