I find embiggen to be a perfectly cromulent word. I'm interested in all things science/technology related, being simultaneously really active (working out, sports (cricket, hockey, skiing, softball)), getting quality use out of my couch (movies, shows, games, reading) and overusing parenthetical phrases. I love trivia and the whole travel thing (next countries I'd like to see are Iceland, Argentina, Japan, and somewhere along the Adriatic).

I do speech recognition R&D, which, whether you think that sounds exciting or not, you're right!

picking up new skills quickly. I have a huge range of interests, and I like to think that if it's something I enjoy or find valuable, I can pick-up on it pretty fast. I enjoy working with my hands when the opportunity arises. I make really good eggs (or I just like eggs so much, I just think I'm really good at making them).

I know way too many Simpson's quotes for my own good, and every once in a while, I'll do some decent impressions.

My favorite books are Gravity's Rainbow, House of Leaves, American Gods, Ender's Game, the Inferno, and a variety of comic books.

My favorite movie of all time is The Sting. I watch comedies more than anything else (The Jerk being my favorite), but really enjoy Hitchcock, Coen brothers, and Nolan.

I have a lot of favorite TV shows, but I would have to say Buffy the Vampire Slayer takes the number spot. Arrested Development, Breaking Bad, Firefly, Battlestar Galactica, Mad Men...and so on. I've promised my friend my next show will be The Wire, so I'm obligated to start that soon.

I'm always listening to music- I constantly have headphones on at work or around the house. Bobby Darin, Muse, Dragonforce, the Slackers, the Police...too many to name. I grew up playing in bands and sang in an a capella group in college, so music is pretty important to me.
