I understand how the world works and where it's been, à la
history and
science.
Comparative
mythology is a passion of mine and I can be a compulsive
photographer.
I enjoy
language
and writing; things such as
conversation,
writing,
bad poetry and the like. I mostly
dabble with English; but I also play around with
Spanish,
French,
Latin, and
Mandarin. I like
Proto-Indo-European
root words,
which I try not to think about while I practice
Zazen meditation. I'm told I have a
habit of making
obscure topics interesting to
people. :)
Some random facts about me: I like both
coffee and
tea. I use the word
nor in everyday conversation. I know that
the
Flatiron
Building is located on Madison Square in New York. I feel an
urge to swing every time I pass a
swing set. I'm usually somewhere between
tortured autodidactic polymath and happy little fag mode. I'm a
geek in the street but a freak in the bed. I like to make
lists.
I'm trying to complete a B.A. in
History before the money runs out and
then earn my Master's and Ph.D. before I'm too old to read the
diplomas. This summer I'm brushing up on my
Spanish,
French,
Latin, and
Mandarin.
I'm also searching for like-minded gay friends to share my
interests and daily bumps in the road with. I'm currently in the
market for a boyfriend too.
Most people usually notice my intellect. Probably because I'm
usually babbling about animal life in the
Carboniferous or the duality of
Eros in
Greek mythology. I
loathe Algebra; I'll take Pythagoras or Heisenberg over Archimedes
any day.
Way too many books and movies to mention; everything from Southern
authors and playwrights like
Zora Neale Hurston and
Tennessee
Williams to the Sci-Fi and Fantasy of
Robert Silverberg and
Fred
Saberhagen in literature, . In film, my interest ranges the
from Hallmark TV movie
Mrs. 'Arris Goes to
Paris to
Pirates of the
Caribbean trilogy to the silent film classic
Fritz Lang's
Metropolis.
I have an eclectic taste in music, but I do love the divas. I also
like classic artists like
Louis Armstrong or
Edith Piaf. I love world
music; especially
Angelique Kidjo and the
Afro
Celts.
I love
Mexican
food,
Italian
food, and
Southern food; I refuse to choose.
Six? Why not eight? I could do without such an arbitrary question.
The future; mine, humanity's. Also, I think about religion,
philosophy, and
Proto-Indo-European
root words. I'm
smart enough to know I'm not above making mistakes. I probably
think too much.
Watching television at home or watching
B-movies with friends. Hanging out or
out dinning.
I’m not into hook ups, but I don’t want you to move in with me
after the second date either.
You are looking for a friend or something more.
