My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I’d describe myself as a pretty huge nerd. And by nerd, I mean that I’m the kind of person who gets excited about really lame things like maps, museums, and board games (Catan, anyone?). I’m also a pretty big pop culture enthusiast – the trashier the better. If you need someone to rattle off every Real Housewife of America or quote from the classic 2004 comedy Mean Girls, I’m your guy. With all seriousness though, I’m incredibly fascinated by the world around me, and something that I value both in myself and in others is an intrinsic curiosity and awareness of what’s going on around them.

Humour-wise, I enjoy irony, appreciate a good provocative joke, and relish the occasional sarcasm. Witticisms and double-entendres are the fastest ways to my heart. I’m a firm believer in finding humour in life’s monotony, so it really doesn’t take much to keep me entertained. I’d say that I have a pretty active mental life, so despite the fact that my life is pretty tame (the most reckless thing I’ll ever do is willingly take a nap in the middle of the day), you can be sure that my internal monologue is always offering some sort of ridiculous commentary. Rest assured that I don’t live entirely in my head, however, as one of my greatest desires and pleasures is connecting with others to share in inherently differing perspectives. This is what’s brought me here.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I’m currently working towards a PhD in psychology, which means I spend lots of time thinking about stuff that few people actually care about. Much of my research takes me abroad, so aside from satisfying my thirst for useless knowledge, grad school also satisfies my inevitable pangs of wanderlust.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Remembering. If memories were objects, I’d probably be a hoarder. Most of it is pretty much useless stuff, but it comes in handy from time to time.
The first things people usually notice about me

I’ve been told that I tend to ask a lot of questions when meeting people. I’d consider myself a pretty inquisitive person, so if we ever meet, let it be known that I’ll want your whole life story. You’re welcome to mine in return, of course... I show you mine if you show me yours?

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My best friend.
The Internet.
Good conversation.
A purpose.
A shower before bed.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The human condition.
What makes people the way they are.
Whether I’m doing what I ought to be doing.
Whether butter is a carb.
Why Mean Girls never won an Oscar.
What it'd be like if I didn't think so much.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Perhaps out with friends, but more likely staying in with friends – having an AWESOME time, drinking AWESOME shooters, listening to AWESOME music, and just sitting around soaking up each others’ awesomeness. (Or writing a Mean Girls-themed online dating profile.)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I was once adamantly opposed to the Oxford comma. Shameful, I know, but thankfully I've seen the light.
