I may not be the smartest girl in New York, but I'm certainly not the dumbest. I may not be the prettiest girl in New York, but I'm certainly not the ugliest. And I bet I can carry a better conversation and make you laugh harder than most women out there.
I guess I'm here for the same reason you are, because I'm hoping to meet someone. I have tons of friends and I'm always busy, but the one thing missing from my life is someone to share it all with. The reason I'm in New York is to be a singer. I've done pretty well with it, I've been a working singer since I finished grad school. The last few years have been particularly exciting, I made my Lincoln Center and Carnegie debuts and have done some shows at New York City Opera. I'm exposed to tons of people because of the music business, but honestly, most of the men are gay or married or I've known them for years and they seem like brothers. Dating in New York, let's face it, kinda sucks. So here I am.
That being said, I love New York (most of the time). I love everything that we have at our fingertips at every moment. Food, concerts, museums, theater, we really have it all. And I love exploring the city and all its ins and outs and neighborhoods I don't know.
I also love to travel, and hope to do more. Last summer (2011) I went to Italy for the first time and I fell in love. I've been to Germany, Ireland, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Costa Rica, Mexico, the Bahamas, and about 30 of the States. I've been to the Grand Canyon and Niagara Falls, but have yet to make it Mt Rushmore or Yellowstone National Park, which I would really like to do.
I started doing yoga a few years ago and I love it. It makes me feel so good, and it helps my singing too!

I've done it all when it comes to jobs: personal assistant, dogsitting, babysitting, waitressing, working in offices, etc. Of course I would love to have a wildly successful solo career, but realistically speaking, I just hope to make all my living off singing someday and be comfortable and not a starving artist...

I don't make a lot of time for TV, but I've been catching up on
some shows online. Recently watched all of Arrested Development, Weeds, Lost, and 30 Rock. Back in the day I was big into X-Files and have been known to watch Medium. I have to say I think Six Feet Under was one of the most amazing shows ever made. Recently obsessed with Mad Men Parenthood, Modern Family, and Breaking Bad.

There is no typical any night. Sometimes I'm legally panhandling with my opera group in the subway! Usually doing something with friends, whether it be going to a concert, watching a movie at someone's pad, going to a party, staying way too long at happy hour, etc. I'm very social, as aforementioned...

I haven't read or seen any of the Harry Potter books/movies. I know, I'm the only person on earth....

I'm looking for someone thoughtful, caring, giving, sensitive, driven, funny or able to laugh at themselves and life, family-oriented, adventurous, etc. Someone who is happy going out and having a crazy night on the town or staying in and chilling out.

I wish people would be more adventurous on this site. You can't tell anything til you meet someone in person. I've met people whose picture I was very attracted to and when I met them I wasn't really feeling it, and I've gone out with people whose picture I wasn't so sure about and we ended up having great chemistry.
