My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am well educated and articulate. I enjoy reading, old movies, dancing, motorcycles, dogs, long walks, live theatre, live music, festivals and comedy clubs. I'm an introvert, so I'm not great at small talk, but love long conversations with close friends. I have a great sense of humor and I'm a bit of a geek (yes, I actually have a lightsaber). I'm more grounded in reality as opposed to lost in the clouds, but I have a vivid imagination. I like to laugh . . . a lot. I don't take myself or others too seriously, which leads me to sometimes be irreverent. To quote Monty Python, I "always look on the bright side of life" (I'm supposed to whistle here, but I can't whistle). I'm spontaneous, so I'm more than happy to pick up at a moment's notice and take off for a fun day or weekend. And now that I've included all the cutesy stuff above, here's the down and dirty. I have a very healthy self esteem. It's not wrapped up in tanning booths, hair salons and manicures. I'd rather buy a book. It's going to benefit me more in the long run. If you want to discuss current events and politics, I'm in. If you want someone to plan a dinner party, not so much.
I'm a soft touch and recently adopted a scruffy looking nerf herder (if you're a Star Wars fan, you'll get that) named Maggie from a shelter. I like to be challenged intellectually and I don't shy from healthy disagreement and discourse. If I have an opinion, I won't hesitate to voice it, but I don't chatter on just to hear myself talk. If you're looking for a shrinking violet, you won't find her here. I think good relationships are based on, not only similarities, but on mutual respect for each other's differences. I'm not comfortable in crowds, but enjoy more intimate surroundings. I'm an affectionate person, and when I connect with someone on an intellectual and physical level, I enjoy expressing that connection through touch. I love, love, love amusement parks, watching and listening to storms and walking in the rain. And to quote that wise man, Crash Davis: "I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days."
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Still trying to figure this one out.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Laughing (I do it as often as I can), listening, kissing, baking, crocheting, problem solving (it's on my resume, so it must be true), learning new things.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
The first things people notice about me are my eyes and my smile.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I read mostly fiction. Anything that's good, but NO romance novels. Any type of movie as long as it's good, NO extreme horror. Give me classic Hitchcock any day of the week. I love live theatre and live music. I enjoy most types of food and enjoy trying new things.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My dog Maggie (I just got her and I can't imagine life without her), love, a good book, a great pillow, laughter, and aluminum.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I'd say the meaning of life, but we already know the answer is 42.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Doing laundry (how depressing is that?)
