My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am a Boston-based architect originally from Southern California who got here via Boulder, Colorado. How this happened is still a bit of a mystery to me, but I have a great life, and I wouldn't want it any other way. I love travel, music--especially playing it, and sitting in the sun with nothing else to do. My health is important to me, and I really enjoy being active. Cycling, running, and cross-country skiing are my favorite sports, but I love just watching the game with friends, too.

Lately I spend time in China from time to time due to work, which is great. I've been lucky enough to go many places around the world and sometimes spend considerable time there. My life is full of good friends, a wonderful but small family, and lots of opportunities to do interesting things. I consider myself a people person, and I think I'm pretty fearless--there aren't many things I won't try.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I moved to Boston for grad school, and stayed here to advance my career and be around the friends I made. I'm starting to feel like Boston is actually home, and the decision to make this my home base was the right one. There is so much to love about this city and about New England. Things are going very well for me professionally, and the proximity to some of the world's top architecture schools is ideal for the practice and teaching of architecture. In my former life I was a working musician, and I am also involved in the music scene here, which is also quite rich due to Berklee, NEC, and so forth. Basically I'm fortunate to live in a wonderful city with great friends and a thriving creative career.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm a good friend, first and foremost. This question is designed to make us all sound like twats, isn't it?

So...I'm good in the kitchen, I can spin a basketball, and I usually carry a pocketknife, so I can open packages (or wine bottles) without much trouble. I have a pretty good handle on grammar, so I can identify passive voice and incomplete sentences, and I know what an Oxford comma is. There are a few other things I'm good at, too, like sarcasm, self-deprecating humor, and political incorrectness.
The first things people usually notice about me

I hope it is my kindness, but it's probably the scar in my eyebrow or something.

Breaking Bad, Twin Peaks, Mad Men, old sitcoms. I just started Rome and Game of Thrones. CHiPs and the old Batman were awesome.

Bebop and jazz (Sonny Rollins is the king, but these guys are also hanging out on the tip of the iceberg: Bird, Miles, Trane, Mingus, Oliver Nelson, Michel Camilo, Michel Petrucciani, and the big 3 guitarists) Robben Ford, Robert Cray, Joe Bonnamassa, Bach, Arvo Part, Philip Glass, Led Zeppelin, Steely Dan, The Allmans, Motown, Me'Shell Ndegeocello, MJ, Pole, Jay Z...the list is too long.

Favorite foods: pie, good crusty bread, stinky cheese, and wine, but beer goes better with everything.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
How is this different from the last question?

And rolls of trace paper.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Architecture. Urbanism. Chairs. The difference, if any, between architecture, urbanism, and chairs. Loved ones. Whether or not to take a cab.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Some contenders are:

out for dinner/drinks with amazing people, sitting on my porch watching the sun set over the Jamaica Pond with a beer, going to a music spot, making something good to eat
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I'm an only child, so I was good friends with Nick at Nite and can sing the lyrics to an unholy number of t.v. theme songs made prior to 1980. Need to know the bridge to Mr. Ed? I'm your man.

Sorry that's not more juicy.
