I am intelligent, adventurous, and unique.

My Self-Summary

I have a year left at CSUN and then I'll be teaching history while I continue to pursue my education and career options. I love ancient civilizations and I'm proficient at analyzing social and political processes in terms of gender relations and class conflict. I have also completed associates programs in computer science and psychology. I've worked full time and gone to school almost my entire adult life.

I'm a total animal lover and a vegetarian. I've rescued many animals. And that's vegetarian as in pescetarian, because I love sushi so much. If you hate meat and love sushi, we'll get along perfectly.

I come from a family of visual artists. I love taking pictures and Photoshop is one of my favorite hobbies. I'm a creative person in my own unique way, and I keep my mind as young as possible. I'm always throwing around crazy ideas and novel/script scenes.

I love all forms of electronic music, especially industrial, electro, ebm, and powernoise. I'm a newb with synthesizers and sequencers. I hang out at industrial clubs and occasionally spring for overpriced massive parties.

I also love classic rock and playing guitar. I wish I could go back and experience the 60s, but since I can't, I try to spread the peace and love philosophy wherever I go. I have a classical guitar handed down to me from the hippie days of my late aunt and it's a cherished family heirloom to me.

I tend to be a spiritual person. I love reading mythological stories, occult works, and sacred scriptures, but I don't believe in organized religion because I've studied the development and relationships between the world's cultures and see things in terms of human universals and personal ethics rather than dogmatic beliefs. I just try in every way possible to be a good person.

The beauty of the natural world is the most powerful thing there is to me. I love being out in nature and I'm always looking for hiking and camping buddies and a traveling companion.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm finishing my bachelor's degree so I can start teaching, and I'm buying a house once I have the down payment and closing costs together.

In the long run, I hope to somehow inspire humanity to rise above the dark age we're facing and destroy the gender/class/slavery system.

And I'm always seeking to improve myself by whatever means feel right to me. I always want to learn new skills, meet interesting people, and experience new things. There is so much about the world that I do not know.

I’m really good at

- critical analysis, pattern recognition, creativity, and arguing both sides of any decision or issue.

- cooking. I cook my own meals whenever I have the time. I make some awesome vegan, organic mashed potatoes, portobello burgers, and vegan rotelle.

- repairing and programming computers and electronic devices.

Working on it:

- art, (most of it sucks). My deviantArt is http://divineandrogyne.deviantart.com/. I am pretty good with Photoshop, though.

- music, (same as above). My electronic music project is http://www.myspace.com/shadowspass. And acoustic guitar has been a favorite hobby of mine for the past several months, after years of not playing. I'm getting better all the time.

The first things people usually notice about me

are my eyes. At least that's what I'm complimented on the most. Maybe you should fill the rest in for me?

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I hate picking favorites for anything, but...

Music:
Alabina, And One, Aphex Twin, Apoptygma Berzerk, Assemblage 23, B52s, Bauhaus, The Beatles, Benny Benassi, Black Sabbath, Blutengel, Britney Spears, Boys Noize, Combichrist, Covenant, Cradle of Filth, Crystal Castles, Crookers, CSS, The Cure, Cut Copy, Daft Punk, Das Ich, Dead Can Dance, Deadmau5, Deadsy, Depeche Mode, Die Form, Fractured Transmission, Funker Vogt, Garbage, Goldfrapp, Hanzel und Gretyl, Imperative Reaction, Infected Mushroom, Interpol, Justice, Kidney Thieves, KiEw, Klaxons, Ladytron, Led Zeppelin, Marilyn Manson, The Mars Volta, Metronomy, Mindless Self Indulgence, MGMT, Murderdolls, Muse, Necessary Response, Nine Inch Nails, Nirvana, Orbital, Orgy, Peaches, Pink Floyd, Prodigy, Psyclon Nine, Qntal, Radiohead, Rasputina, Rammstein, Rob Zombie, The Rolling Stones, Rotersand, Roto Visage, Santogold, Shnarph!, Simian Mobile Disco, Sisters of Mercy, [:SITD:], Smashing Pumpkins, Stone Temple Pilots, Suicide Commando, Tactical Sekt, t.A.T.u., Tears for Fears, Terminal Choice, Terrorfakt, Velvet Acid Christ, VNV Nation, Voltaire, White Zombie, Wolfsheim, :Wumpscut:, Xotox

I think my favorite song of all time is Led Zeppelin - Going to California. Ignoring the title, this song can tell you so much about me and who I'm ultimately looking for.

Books:
It wouldn't be fair to list the dozens of books piled in my room, because most of them were studied or researched. I've rarely had the time to sit and read an entire book for enjoyment, but I LOVE Anne Rice. I also love books dealing with the occult, linguistics, and obviously history.

Movies:
The Matrix, Fight Club, Party Monster, Zoolander, Waking Life, What the Bleep do we Know?, An Inconvenient Truth, Ninth Gate, James Bond, Star Wars, The Ring, Donnie Darko, From Hell, Sleepy Hollow, Queen of the Damned, Dracula, Nightmare Before Christmas, Pulp Fiction, 12 Monkeys, 5th Element, Wendy and Lucy, Willy Wonka, American Beauty, The Shining, A Scanner Darkly, A Clockwork Orange, Full Metal Jacket, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Shaun of the Dead, Secretary, The Dark Night, eXistenZ, Ed Wood, 300, V. for Vendetta, Juno, Sex and the City, I ♥ Huckabees, The Yellow Submarine

Food:
I identify myself as a vegetarian, though many other vegetarians disagree with this designation because occasionally I eat fish. The proper, though largely unheard of term is pescetarian. I'm strict in the sense that I have not consumed the flesh of any mammal or bird in the past five years, though I'm flexible with consumption of dairy and egg.

I love sushi, but it's expensive and I think it's best consumed as a group activity, so I save it for special occasions. A good first place to meet me in public would be a sushi bar with a high quality to price ratio. Of course, vegan or vegetarian restaurants and cafés are quite lovely as well.

The six things I could never do without

nature
laptop
guitar
vaporizer
school/learning/new experiences
good friends, family, and pets

I spend a lot of time thinking about

- the world, the universe, humanity, suffering, the big picture. I finally settled on a history major after years of academic soul searching because, besides watching the history channel all the time, I love thinking about the story behind anything. Socrates is a bit of a role model to me. I take nothing at face value and question everything. Timothy Leary, Aleister Crowley, and Terrence McKenna are inspirations to me as well.

- how things should be in my opinion, and tend to lament over the imperfection of this world. Imagine a life of peace without the suffering of labor, competition, sexism, racism, hunger, or violence. We have the technology to live this way, so why don't we?

Lately I've become quite a fan of the Resource Based Economy solution.

On a typical Friday night I am

at a club or a party, probably keeping deathrockette out of trouble, or watching a movie. Otherwise, I'm making music or resting up after a long week.

I have a really long day on Fridays this semester, so nowadays, I'm probably sleeping.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm terribly shy (isn't that why you use a site like this?), but I'll open up to you after we've hung out a few times.

I wholeheartedly reject this society's constructs of gender and sexuality.

You should message me if

(this is a mostly disjunctive list and not a series of unattainable prerequisites written in stone)

- you're a good person, reasonably attractive, and genuinely interested in me.

- you're vegetarian or pescetarian, or at least know what those words mean.

- you are not sexist, racist, classist, or nationalist. If you are, then I really feel sorry for you.

- listen to electronic music, go to industrial clubs or raves, and are looking for someone to accompany you.

- you have a beautiful voice, are a DJ, musician, photographer, or any type of artist.

- you love art galleries, museums, and artwalks.

- you're part of the LGBTQ community or an ally, or you browse the BDSM scene.

- like to go hiking or camping and enjoy nature. I really want to find some camping buddies!

- are an open-minded, fun-loving, laid-back person in general.

- (if you're looking to date) you're around the early 20s in age, or very mature for an 18 or 19 year old.

- you're not full of yourself. If you're here attempting to provide a fake sense of empowerment for yourself by pretending you're the hottest thing in the world and all the guys want you, I'm not interested.

- you do not take dating seriously and simply seek to make a connection with another human being. I'm not against having a romance based on intense mutual attraction, interest, and respect, based on complete equality. I generally prefer to make friends with people I'm interested in and see where the relationship goes from there, so if you're the traditional guy-takes-a-girl-for-dinner-and-a-movie-and-sees-how-inebriated-she-has-to-get-before-he-gets-laid type, then sorry. And no, just because you make friends with me doesn't mean I'll have sex with you.

- you're looking for a new friend. Acquaintances come and go, especially on a site like this, but I value true friends over everything.
