My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
"Hey look! It's a witty intro paragraph that lets you know how carefree and funny he is. Isn't that a relief? I'm sure THIS guy isn't an axe murderer! Oooh and he's 'laid back' too! Yeah. Awesome."

I like my coffee black, prefer to drive a manual transmission, am a proponent of the Oxford comma, and believe that well-placed curse word improves one's quality of life immeasurably.

I just reactivated this thing after a long hiatus. I need to redo my profile. I think I'm going to go a little more minimalist this time. I think the best way to get to know people is by interacting with them.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Hanging out with my cat. She's my best friend.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I can cook pretty well. My knife skills are more than adequate. I like to think I can hold up my end of a conversation. I can get eight hours worth of work done in three, which leaves me time to goof off or be generally non-productive.

Also, grammar. Though occasionally I do not write in complete sentences. Obviously.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My beard, I guess. I honestly don't know because I've never asked, and that seems like a bit of a narcissistic question to throw at someone.

I'm not doing specifics here. I deal in concepts.

Books: I like thoughtful scifi that deals with existential questions. I also like non-fiction books about history or human behavior. I'm not married to these genres though.

Movies: I prefer dramas that have great acting. I'm picky about comedies, but like good ones.

Shows: Again, I like dramas with good acting. I also dislike episodic formats. I prefer well written story lines and themes that flow season to season, episode to episode.

Music: I'm a music snob. I like a lot of old country music, hardcore punk, and alternative hip hop with an East coast flavor.

Food: Garlicky. I don't have much of a sweet tooth. I prefer a hearty bowl of soup to a slice of cake. All my food is sans critters.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
There are a lot of First World conveniences that I like. I like having a nice reliable internet connection, which allows me access to lots of other trivial conveniences. I don't really feel like thinking of other stuff right now, and frankly I don't think this section is all that interesting.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Dumb shit that is weird, esoteric, and probably pointless. Not a zombie apocalypse though. That's kind of played out.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?

Define typical. I'm usually either out drinking or at home goofing off on the internet and hanging out with my cat. Sometimes I really shake things up and have a bowl of cereal.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!

What you have read has made you think I'm interesting. I don't have a laundry list of criteria here. I know this profile is kind of dry. I like it like that. Maybe you read between the lines and gleaned something about me. As I mentioned above, I think the best way for people to get to know each other is direct interaction. How much can you really know about someone by what they put on a dating profile? Most people are at least partially full of shit, and you have no reason to think I'm any different.
