My self-summary
My favorite sound in life is a friend's laughter. I'm a jack-of-all-trades, rural Midwest transplant finding fun in the big city. I've been in C-bus for 15+ years now and still finding new things to check out... although I do miss the stars in the country sky. Finding silver-linings is one of my specialties. I'm quiet at first but warm up once you've earned my trust.

I'm looking for someone who's fairly laid back and down to earth. I've always liked people that understand "it's the thought that counts." Trust me, I make it count!

Oh, and I dig anyone that can challenge me at Tetris.

I am NOT: a lying, cheating, stealing, douche-bag player. (Okay, I'm a player if it involves dice! ;-D)

I am: honest, straightforward, kind, sincere, and respect the same in return.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a computer geek from 9-to-6... nothing too exciting, but always interesting. My boss and co-workers are great, so I don't mind going there every day. My passion has been making metal art. I'm super excited that I just got studio space in an up-and-coming art hub! Woodworking, reading, and inventing other stuff work their way in there too.

I've recently taken up archery as a hobby. It's been fun tracking down a couple of nice bows and making my own arrows to go with them. A friend recently reiterated, "You want to be in THIS guy's truck when the apocalypse hits." I truly hope it doesn't, but I'll do okay for myself if it does. I enjoy camping and hiking and want to do more of it than I have over the last few years.

Some of my free time is spent helping my friends with whatever various projects they're working on. They're usually weird, wacky, and always fun... yes, that applies to both the projects and the friends! They're very talented people and I love to collect their works. Some of us are active in a great local art group where we get together, pot-luck, and help each other however we can. Good times! Do you do art? Drop me a message if you want to hang out with some cool people and get in some shows.

I'm always looking for an excuse for a road trip, a walk around town, and some fresh air!
I’m really good at
...holding the couch down, but that's usually where I'm designing custom chain-mail jewelry, metal sculptures, and other contraptions. I'm decent at MacGuyvering up something out of a pile of junk, a piece of wire, and maybe some duct tape. My friends like to give me their "trash"... they love when I up-cycle it into treasures!

I like to cook, love to eat, and hate to do dishes. There are a couple of my own recipes that I love to cook up for my friends for game nights. World peace can be achieved through Lava Chicken... okay, maybe not for the vegetarians, but they're usually pretty peaceful anyhow. I've also been known to bubble up my own brews from time-to-time.

But the thing I do best is listen. I'm a confidante to many and treat their trust with the greatest respect.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
It's too tough to pick a favorite book. I love to read but it can be hard to find the time. I've been working on some of the greatest novels of all time... if you're a lit and/or stat geek, ask how I come up with the "greatest" novels. Half-Price Books may very well be the greatest bookstores ever. I still dig my comix and comics (brownie points if you know the difference) but haven't followed them as much lately. My favorite authors include Douglas Adams, Sergio Aragones, Aldous Huxley, Harvey Pekar, Hermann Hesse (no, he's not a Nazi), Ray Bradbury, George R. R. Martin, Jack Kerouac, Robert Heinlein, Stephen King, J.K. Rowling, and Dr. Seuss.

I have a love/hate relationship with PBS... I love to watch it, and it hates to come in clear. The Big Bang Theory, Jeopardy!, and Wipeout! are some of the shows that will keep me from turning on Netflix. Without having cable, I do have to use the interwebz to stay up on Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, and Doctor Who. "Trust me, I'm the Doctor." Yes, I want my own TARDIS.

"Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" and "Stranger than Fiction" are two of my favorite movies. Star Wars, LotR, and Indiana Jones can all be watched anytime and never get old. I love to go to the movies, especially in 3-D. Throw in a Hound Dogs pizza or some Mexican cuisine and that makes for a great night.

I like to listen to any GOOD music. I don't care it's genre as long as it fits my mood... and that's usually rock! I also like blues, jazz, funk, punk, metal, and classical too depending on what I need to work on. I finished up the Ken Burn's "Jazz" documentary and want to make it out for some live shows.
The six things I could never do without
1 and 1. Friends and family... I can't pick one over the other as they tend to be one in the same, so they're tied for #1.
3. My morning cup of coffee is tough to do without.
4. "Cheese!" -Wallace
5. I feel naked without my cell phone.
6. I'd miss my cats if they weren't around, even though they're jerks.

Other than that, I'm resourceful so can make-do for everything else.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Life, the universe, and everything! I'm a Sagittarius... it's our curse and our blessing.
On a typical Friday night I am
I might make it out early with some friends to shoot pool, catch a movie, listen to some music, or catch an art show. I've been hanging out with my goddaughter a few Fridays lately so her parents can have date night. They've been having fun, but I'm getting the better part of the deal. :-)

If nothing exciting is happening, I'll use late-night Fridays as work nights for my metal stuff. I'll flip on the Netflix and toil the night away, sometimes 'til the sun comes up. I do my best work at night. ;-D
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am completely hooked on Lego video games on Xbox 360. What can I say, they bring out the kid in me! Don't judge me... there are worse things to be addicted to.
