I am clever, cuddly, and clumsy.

My Self-Summary

My name is Ash, but most of my friends call me GRIZZ. I live in Seattle, work with kids, and enjoy eating fancy cheese and French baguettes using my pocket knife. I'm most comfortable in a sweatshirt and jeans, hanging out in the outdoors. My favorite place in the world is the shores of the Hood Canal. My Subaru's name is Julio, and I have a goldfish named Ferdinand Magellan who is over 7-years-old. I hold my friends close to my heart. I like exploring tide pools and friendship bracelets that only come off because you've worn them out. I find happiness in laughing with buddies, Chaco tans, dirty summer feet, drinking from mason jars, and sleeping under the stars.

What I’m doing with my life

I graduated from Western WA Univ. in 2006 with a degree in Recreation and Environmental Education, but I don't have a clear plan for what I'm going to do in the future. I've grown quite fond of life, friends, and adventures in Seattle, as well as traveling the world. When I grow up, I'm gonna find a place to live with a patch of lawn where I can play in the dirt, learn how to keep bees, play guitar, and acquire myself a kayak, kitten, motorcycle, and a BBQ. And if you want, you can come too.

I’m really good at

Making breakfast, helping others, and making a fool of myself. Oh, and being super gay!

The first things people usually notice about me

My easy grin.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I like to read, but often fall asleep quickly when I dive into a book, and I may be in denial about needing reading glasses. Anyway, some of my favorite books are the Harry Potter series, Bunicula, The Giver, Off the Map, Prodigal Summer, The Great Gatsby, Tipping the Velvet, & Sometimes A Great Notion. I also enjoy Pet Sematary, House at Pooh Corner, The Lorax, What Was I Scared Of?, Fried Green Tomatoes, A Light in the Attic, Frog & Toad, The Giving Tree, Free To Be You & Me, The Girl Who Owned A City, Anything by Ivan E. Coyote, and Plants of the Pacific Northwest (Pojar). Reading about the Pacific Northwest really makes me happy.

My favorite movies include:
Amelie, Fried Green Tomatoes, Goonies, Ocean's 11, Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter, Anchorman, Radio Flyer, Now & Then, Stand By Me, Remember the Titans, Pay It Forward, Mrs. Doubtfire, A League of Their Own, Milo & Otis, Garden State, Finding Nemo, An American Tail, Napoleon Dynamite, But I'm A Cheerleader, Signs, The Village, Juno, Wet Hot American Summer (I think I just named my whole movie collection) etc, etc, etc...

I rock out to:
The Indigo Girls, Sleater-Kinney, Peaches, The Postal Service, Ani DiFranco, Tegan & Sara, Feist, Brandi Carlile, Chris Pureka, Alanis Morissette, Peaches, MIA, The Killers, Death Cab, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, DeRussy, and Camp Songs.

Some other random things I also like:
Little kitties, dock appreciating, Kava tea, Chacos, Nalgene bottles, making movies, making out, Peanut Butter M&Ms, mix CDs, playing catch with fruit, snorkeling, Sunday driving, Morse Code Bracelets, traveling abroad, Pita Pit, Playing Apples To Apples, Crocs, aviator sunglasses, snowboarding, flying kites, Campfires, building forts, gardening/playing in the dirt, dinosaurs, swinging, primitive hunting, sunsets, sunrises, trying to play guitar, hiking, road trips, going on walks, spooning, getting letters in the mail, softball, sneak hiking, Garden Gnomes, Trees & Tree Houses, Tater Tots, Cuddle Puddles, Playing Pooh Sticks, Ninja Attacks, acting like a Pirate, Orange Zima, Phosphorescence, Bad Dancing, Playing Hide & Go Seek and No Holds Barred, being nostalgic, canoeing & kayaking, hiking, live music, game farms, View Masters, pipe cleaners, Kazoos, thrift stores, taking pictures, rainbows, farmer's markets, pho, legos, Camp Ten Trees, drive-in movies, green toenail polish, back rubs, and general mischief!

The six things I could never do without

Being connected to friends and family, world travel, the Pacific Northwest/Outdoors, Camp, love, and the possibility of adventure.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Other people and what I'm going to do with my life next.

On a typical Friday night I am

Hanging out on Capitol Hill, watching movies on a buddy's couch, In a park, or plotting and scheming about what I'm going to do Saturday and Sunday. (Or maybe wishing I had a date...)

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I pick my nose when I think nobody is looking... But hey, doesn't everybody?!

You should message me if

you should feel the desire to!
