I really love being my age. I love the fact that I at least tasted the '60's.
My story in a nutshell:
The 60's born
The 70's razed
The 80's born again
The 90's raved
The 00's rocked
The 10's rebel, reboot, redefine

I've had the honor of sharing a stage or DJ booth with such luminaries as New Order, Public Image Limited, Killing Joke, Suicide, Paul Weller, Primal Scream, Mixmaster Morris, Hybrid, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, Moev, Nine Inch Nails, Legendary Pink Dots, Genesis P. Orridge of Throbbing Gristle and Psychic TV, Die Warzau, David Holmes, Bebel Gilberto, Gotan Project, Jazzanova, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Fila Brazillia, Chari Chari, Nuspirit Helsinki, Yukihiro Fukutomi, Nouvelle Vague, and Ben Watt to name a few.
But perhaps my most surrealistic DJ performance occurred when I was commissioned to program the music for the wake of William S. Burroughs. I actually DJ'd behind the open casket of the iconic Beat Generation writer on the stage of a 19th century opera house in Lawrence, Kansas.
The rest of the story:
I am a very social person. I enjoy meeting new people, making new friends, and nurturing my relationships. I also enjoy engaging conversation.
I love going out. Although I'm in the nightclub business, I prefer pubs, intimate lounges, and dive bars to mega-clubs. I dig classic cocktail culture.
I'm a downtown guy. I frequent the East Village, the Lower East Side, Soho, Union Square, and the Meat Packing District, as well as my neighborhood Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn where I feel a strong sense of community.
I am a passionate supporter of liberal politics. I love to meet people who share that same passion.
I enjoy sharing normal, everyday life experiences and activities like exploring Manhattan, attending the cinema, theater, concerts, performance art, museums, dining at a favorite restaurant. And I love sharing the experience of listening to music. I have a split headphone cable for my i-Pod so that a full stereo signal may play through two sets of headphones simultaneously for romantic musical bonding while enjoying a stroll near 30 Rock and Radio City Music Hall, or a lengthy subway ride.
I enjoy losing myself in the blissful ache of romance. I may be a hopeless romantic, but I am not a helpless romantic.
