My self-summary
Yes, I don't live in phoenix. Yet. But I absolutely plan to make it down here in a couple months, so I'm looking for people here so that I can have some friends to start with.

I'm a nerd. A history nerd, science nerd, and a movie nerd. It makes life interesting.
I grew up in Colorado, and really enjoyed the mountains and the outdoor activities here. But, I've decided that its time for a change, I want to live where I can ride my motorcycle year round and never have to put the top on my jeep.
I'm usually the quiet one in a social group, but I can get to be very talkative one on one (the term 'word-vomit' is sometimes appropriate.).
I have a sarcastic, dry, dirty sense of humor that all too often comes across as mean, but it really isn't supposed to be, I swear
I see no point in growing up so much that life becomes a chore. I still jump in mudpuddles, make dams in creeks, think kool-aid tastes better than most beer, catch snowflakes on my tongue, build pillow forts, look for animals in clouds, dream of being an astronaut when I grow up, and make a box of animal crackers into a david attenborough special.
wow, i just found out that okcupid lets you claim fluency in Esperanto and C++. Finally, a reason to learn Esperanto!!

I am thoughtful, curious, and adjectivey

What I’m doing with my life
Almost done (12 credits left) with a bachelors at CSU in biology. I'm moving to Phoenix in august, and plan to work on getting into a masters program so that I can start my career as a physicians assistant. It appears that im going to spend some time this summer in PA/WV to see my family and make some money.

I’m really good at
Poking lighthearted fun at anything. Myself, you, dead people, Pierce Brosnan, whoever.
Aparently I'm good at giving back massages, I've been offered $1 million for one. I really need to send an invoice for that, might help pay off my student loans.
Staying awake for too long, and giggling at bottles of windex the next day.
I'm good at putting myself in others' shoes and realizing that their points are just as valid as mine are. I have gotten good at forgiving people, and learning that holding a grudge only harms me.

The first things people usually notice about me
I would like to think its anything but my big head (I really dont know what they put in there. maybe insulation. or tacos. or Tom Selleck's beard. Silly rabbit, Tom Selleck doesn't have a beard!) I'm somewhat tall, and my hair adds a few inches onto that, so I suppose thats what most people would notice.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
They aren't exactly my favorite movies, but the ones that I can watch over and over: Intolerable cruelty, Mean girls, Zoolander, The old Batman (with Adam West), Serenity, and Groundhog day.
I love Douglas Adams books, books about american history (dorky, im well aware), books that explain 'sciency' stuff (I'm pretty sure that's not a real word).
Cartoons, especially those old saturday morning cartoons, like Ninja turtles, Animaniacs and x-men.
I love good food, and am trying to learn to make it. I get a little over-excited when I walk into a good kitchen store, something about copper cookware...
Theres plenty more, but I really don't see the point in listing everything. Feel free to ask, chances are that I like something about most stuff in this category. Except jelly-filled donuts. I see no redeeming value in those, but I am open to discussing their merits.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
My brain never stops, so the answer would be 'everything'. For example, I recently realized that I really dont like the word 'cremains', and not because it has anything to do with dead people, but because its a useless, sanitized word. I also spend lots of time contemplating how many street signs there are in the country, and how high I could stack them.
I tend to spend too much time thinking about how to solve a problem, and not enough time doing it.
Sometimes I like to lay down and try to wrap my head around how big the planet is, and know that I can't ever realize how big it really is. Its a cheap thrill, I like those.

On a typical Friday night I am
Trying to enjoy myself, like any other day. I might be watching a movie, driving somewhere for the weekend, driving somewhere for no good reason, eating junk food and watching Deadwood or Six Feet Under, trying to ride my bike across the poudre river, or something that I haven't come up with yet.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My name is dorky enough, but I've always half wished that it was something embarassingly dorky, like Poindexter Hershel Zappa.
And purple is my favorite color. I tend to get a lot of flak for that.

I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 20-29
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, activity partners, long-distance penpals
You should message me if
You can find the joy and humor in everyday things. You enjoy figuring out how the world works, for no reason other than curiosity. You're able to enjoy a rainy day by playing with legos and coloring books. You think that all I've written about enjoying childhood pleasures doesn't necessarily mean I'm immature. You're not disgusted by my flagrant use of parentheses and commas (We all have our vices, don't we?).
You're looking for a friend to hang out with in fort collins for the next few months.
You're looking for somebody relaxed, fun and kind in Phoenix, and don't mind exploring the city with me.
