I am acerbic, optimistic, and distracted.

My Self-Summary

At heart I'm a nerd. I grew up watching the always bizarre and entertaining MST3K, which is the foundation of my sense of humor and love of awful movies. I also read the New York Times on a regular basis (specifically the science section, but don't tell anyone!).

I'm pretty open to a variety of activities. Whether it's getting a beer at a sports bar, perusing a museum, or hanging at a club or lounge, I am usually quite happy. (Then again, I get excited when I find my keys, so this may not say that much.)

What I’m doing with my life

I just moved here, as the opportunity to do so presented itself. I'm still adjusting to the Pacific Northwest, and along with that adjustment is a need to figure out what I want to do here.

My goal for the next few months is to meet a few new friends and do new things. If you have any suggestions for things to do in Seattle or want to chill, let me know!

The first things people usually notice about me

I'm surprisingly quiet, though my overt sarcasm contrasts pretty sharply with this facade.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: As I Lay Dying, Death by Black Hole (non-fiction nerdy stuff), The Demon-Haunted World (non-fiction nerdy stuff), Franny and Zooey, Invisible Man, Jane Eyre, 1984, Pride and Prejudice, The Scarlet Letter, Wuthering Heights.

Movies: Requiem for a Dream, El Laberinto del Fauno, Lola Rennt, The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies (yes, this is a real movie).

Music: pretty much everything. Death Cab for Cutie and John Legend share space with Nina Simone and Red Hot Chili Peppers on my iPod, amongst others.

For food, chocolate comes second to coffee. I'm a hardcore junkfood vegetarian.

The six things I could never do without

I spend a lot of time thinking about

My mind filters through many a thought throughout the day. It's hard to pinpoint one specific topic.

On a typical Friday night I am

I might be working or at home, drinking and watching a movie. Otherwise I am often curled up in bed with a book.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm ambidextrous. (Sorry. It's not very exciting.)

You should message me if

I haven't terrified you. Yet.
