I am spunky, smiley, and spontaneous.

My Self-Summary

Not to mention alliterative.

OK, I'm revising this sucker, cause I haven't since I launched and I've learned some stuff by hangin' out online for a while. I am still fascinated by the dude catalog.

I am a nerd lover, since I am a bit of a closet nerd myself. (Actually, not so much closet, but people have a tendency to underestimate my intelligence, so I guess that my nerdiness is closeted naturally. Must be my love of any new slang.)

I have a couple of Masters degrees in stuff that I don't care about because I thought it would help me get a job. I am now a secretary. :( In my heart of hearts, though, I'm a liberal arts girl. Learnin' for the sake of learnin'.

My niece lived w/me for 5 years until she went back to live with her mother this past summer. I have been living it up like the single 30 year old I think I was destined to be and capitalizing on my new found freedom. This is good. . .a lot of light hearted fun after some intensity.

I like to have a good time. I like to hang out and chat w/friends, have a couple of beers (I <3 me some Guinness) and love listening to live bands. (Music is so key.)

I am a grammar police lady, but it's endearing. Honest.

I like to dance.

I smile a lot.

I'm sarcastic and a bit of a ball buster, but playfully.

I am not in any position to find "the one". . . I am looking for many people to meet and share a new memory. And I don't share horizontal memories right off the bat; I'm looking for a good time, not boom boom. If that makes sense after we have a blast vertically a few times, then we'll cross that bridge when we get there.

What I’m doing with my life

Well, like I said, I'm a secretary with a great company that promises there will be more for me there if I'm patient. It's been a year . . .we'll see. In the meantime, I'm enjoying my new-found, previously-described freedom.

I’m really good at

Really good? What does that even mean? I am an above average communicator, especially written, a hell of an arguer, and I like to sing. I won't hurt your ears, but I know people who are really good, and I'm not there.

The first things people usually notice about me

My smile, or that I swear like a sailor. I try; I really do.

How genuinely excited I seem. About everything. My friend assures me that this is a good thing. :)

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Too many to mention, but I'll give ya a random sample so that you can judge accordingly.

Books: Tony Morrison, I'm reading a Tom Robbins right now that I really dig, Dickens (really, most classics, with the exception of Faulkner--seriously, if you can show me the value, I'll buy you a beer), Amy Tan, Alice Walker, I don't know. I've given up on tv (removed the distraction) so I will be adding to this list I'm sure. I got into a huge Gregory Maguire kick this summer. I miss literature.

Movies: Donnie Darko, just saw Idiocracy and it was hilarious, I like me some Judd Apatow (sp?), Shawshank Redemption is one of my favs. I don't know. I haven't gotten into Indies like most. Love me some Tarentinos, though.

Music: This is my steaze. Everything. Right now, I'm getting into that throwback sound and love me some Amy Winehouse and Duffy, James Morrison, Ben Harper, The JayHawks, Patty Griffin, Modest Mouse, WuTang, Lauren Hill, Prince, Mofro, I can go on forever really. My ipod will always be my other man. I love him.

Food: My momma is like a master cook. She really is a genius, so her stuff is my favorite. I like ethnic--really love middle eastern or indian. I will pretty much eat anything but onions. And radishes--they totally taste like spicy dirt.

The six things I could never do without

In no particular order . . .

1. The interwebs and a computer to navigate them
2. My ipod
3. My family
4. My car--a girl's gotta have some freedom, no matter how beat up it may be
5. My friends
6. My dog, got a new one who is the bane of my existence and the highlight of my day. :) She chewed, no joke, my work laptop charger, my ipod charger, and my audio aux cable all in an hour. This does not include the phone charger, my favorite bra, favorite flip flops, really the list is endless.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Why I'm totally underemployed and nobody exploits my big beautiful brain for their personal benefit, how to be a better person and pseudomom, where to go for lunch . . .

On a typical Friday night I am

There are no typical Friday nights for me anymore. I may be hanging at a friend's party, or just over their house, maybe get some drinks or go dancing.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I already admitted it--I am fascinated by this whole "shopping for dudes" online dating thing. Also, I totally checked out the other ladies on here to see how I stack up.

You should message me if

You want to have some drama free fun and you can hold up your own end of the conversation and you're not looking for miss right. You just want to go out, sling some brews, have a lot of fun and not worry about labeling us anything. If you want to get to know one another, have a good laugh at life's expense, or appreciate something good in the world.

Also, yes I'm quite educated and actually ridiculously intelligent, but I have no tolerance for elitist bull shit. I grew up in low income housing. . .I'm extremely liberal. I don't wanna hear it.
