I am cerebral, laid-back, and a geek.
My Self-Summary
I am fiercely loyal, once trust has been earned. I'm laid-back, but
passionate. I expect a lot from myself, but never to the point of
forgetting to relax or have fun. I am opinionated, but respect
other points of view (though Republicans and religious zealots
really test the limits of my tolerance). ;-) I'm happy with who I
am and where I'm at in life, but not to the point of complacency.
What I’m doing with my life
Shifting gears into a new career. Writing a book.. three actually.
Riding my motorcycle any time the weather permits. Dealing with
lots of major changes all at once. Reading some really great books.
Hanging out with friends.
I’m really good at
..looking at a situation and figuring out how to improve it.
..sticking up for my beliefs - and for my friends.
..waiting for all the information before drawing conclusions.
.. not panicking in a crisis.
The first things people usually notice about me
The mischievious grin
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Too many to really list. Favorite authors is easier... Clive
Barker, Neil Gaiman, James Clavell, Stephen King, Anne Rice, Poppy
Z. Brite, Paulo Coehlo, Tad Williams, Jonathan Kellerman and J.K.
Rowlings to name a few. Movies are harder.. there are dozens of
movies that I think are amazing.. but I would never want to see
them again - either too scary, too depressing, too gut wrenching,
etc. I enjoy lots of "art house" films, but again they usually
don't come to mind when I think of something to throw in the DVD
player for company while I'm doing other things around the house.
(Maybe my definition of favorite movies is just abnormal) Anyway..
the ones that I could watch repeatedly for various reasons: Domino,
300, Gone in 60 Seconds, Tomb Raider(s), Lord of the Rings Trilogy,
any of the Harry Potters, V for Vendetta, and if tv shows get added
in; Dexter, X-Files, West Wing and any of the Law & Order
series or the original CSI.
Music is all over the place. I don't like country (except the Dixie
Chicks) and I mostly prefer bluegrass to be strictly instrumental.
Other than that, I can usually find something from any genre that I
enjoy. The bands that I go see; NIN, Perfect Circle, Garbage, Live,
U2, Madonna, Sarah McLaughlin, Evanescence, Peter Gabriel, Pink,
The Dresden Dolls and The Diddy Bops, to name a few.
Food would really require its own column. I am a serious foodie,
though not a snob. About the only thing I don't like is any type of
meat that comes in a tube. (with the exception of pepperoni) :-)
The six things I could never do without
My friends, my sense of self, books, music, performance art, my
motorcycle
I spend a lot of time thinking about
conflict resolution, social responsibility, whatever book I'm
reading and "what's for dinner"? ;-)
On a typical Friday night I am
Working, depending on the week. If I'm off work, either going to
see a show of some type or having a glass of wine and relaxing.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I'm not really that private - my philosophy is "ask whatever you
like, as long as you can handle the answer".
You should message me if
you crave intensity without drama.
know who you are and like that person.
you live your life honestly and with compassion.
have mostly figured out what you want from life, or at least what
your core values are.
aren't materialistic.
don't want to be "in a relationship" by the third date.
