My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
By day, I'm a software engineer for a great Silicon Valley-based company, and by night my biggest interests are music, craft beer, and basketball. I love to go to concerts, and I am a self taught guitar player. I was doing open mic night at a local bar for a while, and might start that again soon. I like to try different interesting beer at local places, and also do that when I travel. I brew beer at home with a friend, and people keep saying we should open a brewery. During basketball season, I love to go to Shocker basketball games (or watch them at home if tickets are too hard to come by, like much of this past season).

I am looking for someone who appreciates or shares some of my interests. I would preferably like to find someone who similarly has things in their own life figured out, and knows what they want. I'd also like to find someone as adventurous as I am, and willing to try new things. When I travel, I squeeze as much as I possibly can out of the experience, and I haven't yet found someone who can keep up. I figure that I can sleep (and let the blisters on my feet heal) when I get home! ;)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
At work, I'm the guy people come to when their Linux system breaks. More accurately, I'm a software engineer, who specializes in Linux.

I have a Bachelor's and Master's degree, both from WSU, and I have my own house. Most of my free time is spent on housework, my hobbies, or hanging out with friends.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Logical problem solving, and knowing random, relatively useless, facts. Like, for example, there is an intersection of Tippecanoe St and Tyler Rd in west Wichita, and that amuses my inner history nerd. :)
The first things people usually notice about me

I'm sure it's my height.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Movies: I don't tend to watch a lot of movies, but I like a lot of sci fi and comedies. For example, Star Wars, Star Trek, Inception, Mystery Men, Idiocracy, Office Space. Of course, it's not limited to those genres to me, it's just those are the kinds of movies my friends usually drag me to see.. Haha.

TV: Parks and Recreation, How I Met Your Mother, Seinfeld, Brew Dogs, much of the stuff on the history or science channels.

Music: Porcupine Tree, Radiohead, Broken Bells, Phantogram, Nine Inch Nails, Muse, Foster the People, Sigur Ros
I'll usually binge listen to certain bands as I get into them, but the above gives a good idea of what I've been into recently. I like my music with a lot of complexity, like a good craft beer. :)

Food: Just about anything, with the exception of a few specific things.. I love spicy food and Mexican is probably my favorite. I wish there was a decent Indian food place around here!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My smartphone, a computer, guitar(s), a car, a comfortable place to sleep, and some goals to work towards.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Whatever project I'm working on at that moment. Recently, that project was building a kegerator, for my home made beer (and one commercial guest tap, currently New Belgium 1554).
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hanging out with friends, playing one of my guitars, playing a game, talking to people, watching basketball, or just chilling with a beer and listening to music.

When I go out, I'll usually hit up one of the local craft beer spots: The Anchor, River City, Wichita Brewing Co, Public at the Brickyard.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My friends and I made a Star Wars fan film in high school. I taught myself how to do much of the visual effects.. Also, we're making more right now. One of the bedrooms in my house houses all of the costumes and props, as well as a greenscreen.
