I'm intelligent and independent, hoping to meet someone similar who enjoys a good conversation. It would be a bonus if we shared some common fitness activities, but certainly not a necessity. Some I enjoy are enjoy mtn biking, cycling, hiking, swimming, snowboarding and windsurfing. There are many others I'd love to try, including (but not limited to) kayaking, kiteboarding, and paragliding. I also like cooking, camping, road trips, reading, playing piano, exploring, tinkering, and building things.
Some other characteristics I value are self-confidence, a positive outlook and honesty. I particularly appreciate those who “tell it like it is.” An infectious optimism is also appreciated, as well as a great sense of humor. Life definitely shouldn't be taken too seriously.
I don't watch TV. Some of my favorite movies are Caddyshack, Better Off Dead, After Hours, and Air America. I also own the Chitty-Chitty Bang-Bang DVD --- not that I'd admit that in public, but there's just something about a mad-cap inventor, a flying car, and an outhouse hanging from a blimp. I love a good book and a fire (but not necessarily a book burning =) or sometimes listening to radio.
While I and assuredly everyone else have deal-breakers they seek in a partner, I'm not necessarily looking for an identical twin. Diversity makes people interesting. I don't know exactly what I'm searching for in every area, and I'm almost always willing to meet people to see what happens. I do like to meet in person fairly early, because that's such a superior indicator of character and chemistry. The first meeting doesn't have to be anything involved, whatever you are comfortable with.
Ideally we'd be friends first. Our friendship might blossom into a great relationship as equal partners sharing life, but let's enjoy the journey too.
If some of that rambling strikes a chord, please drop me a line. 10 bonus points if you make me laugh!
