My self-summary
Name's Nolan. I like to laugh. I'm a homebody.

Reading's cool. I like it. Movies, too, but only good movies. Unless it's bad movies for the sake of laughing at, then those are good movies.

I'm mostly a night owl. Mornings can be hard.

I really don't have any religious or political affiliation, though I do tend to lean left.

I've lived with animals my whole life, and I'm really not sure I could see myself living without a pet.

I can be pretty shy at times. However, once I get comfortable, I can be really talkative.
What I’m doing with my life
I've recently switched jobs, and I'm now working for a media conglomerate in Atlanta. So far, it's been pretty fantastic.
I’m really good at
Making people laugh. Well, I try, anyway.

I've been getting better at cooking, but I wouldn't say I'm good at it yet.

I can make an awesome shake called an Alabaster Retard, too. Don't expect you to get the name unless you've seen a lot of The Mighty Boosh.
The first things people usually notice about me
Sense of humor, patience (I've had to learn it, certainly did not come naturally), nerdiness. As far as physically I have no idea - no one has ever told me nor have I ever bothered to ask.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
A) Books - Wow, such a long list, I'll go with authors. Anything by Neil Gaiman (but especially Sandman, Neverwhere, American Gods, Good Omens), George R.R. Martin, Kurt Vonnegut, Alan Moore Dan Simmons (Especially the Hyperion and Ilium series) or Douglas Adams.

B) Again, really huge list. Zombieland was freaking amazing. I also like most comedies, action flicks, you name it. Most recently, I really like Children of Men, The Good Sheperd, The Dark Knight, Demetri Martin: Person, any Eddie Izzard stand up (Glorious is my favorite, though), the latest Star Trek, Watchmen (book was better, but it was a good adaptation).

B1 - I love British TV show like The Mighty Boosh, Quite Interesting and older things such as A Bit of Fry and Laurie. And I just got into modern Doctor Who. Favorite show right now, though, has to be Better Off Ted. The Daily Show and The Colbert Report are also in the lineup, though I often miss them. I've been enamored with Parks and Recreation, Arrested Development, Mad Men, Sons of Anarchy, 30 Rock, The Boondocks, Archer, The Wire, House of Cards, Adventure Time.

C) Try me, I'll listen to pretty much anything. Really. A preview: Heavy, Astronautalis, The Gaslight Anthem, Florence + The Machine, Ladyhawke, Quiet Company, Modern Science Here Come the Mummies, The National, The Decemberists, The Black Keys, Glue, Adeem. A lot of time I'll just have on in the background and listen to whatever comes on.

D) Love all kinds. Been on a huge sushi kick lately.
The six things I could never do without
Challenges. Gotta have them to grow.
Comedy - better to laugh than to cry.
Something to read. Book, internet, magazine, whatever.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why I'm still living in Indiana instead of moving somewhere warmer.
On a typical Friday night I am
It depends. I'm fine with staying in, going to a movie or play, or possibly out with friends.

Recently, I started doing some work for a local improv group and New World Arts in Goshen.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I cried at the end of season 2 of Doctor Who.
