self concious, laconic, and ta-da
My self-summary Propose an edit
I am alternatingly contented and mortified by the world. I am generally
(too) carefree and am fond of non sequiturs. Unfortunately, i am
enamoured with Popculture and spend an inordinate amount of time on
avclub.com. I
am kind of smart, i'd like to think, but most of my knowledge is
scattered and just about all trivia (ex: the queen bee's average
lifespan is seven years. John Adams liked to exercise naked).
I like to read, but i've given up on trying to improve my life
through books. Even the "greats" only give me a feeling of fleeting
satisfaction that is eventually replaced by the mundane and makes
the mundane more extreme (not x-treme).
I have trouble taking things seriously. Like this. I take this
pretty unseriously. Saying that i don't take things seriously does
not mean all things lack gravity. "There are all these little
tragedies in life, but are they really tragedies or just amusing."
I don't know if i quoted that right.
"He admired equally the sanguine, the phlegmatic, the choleric, the
melancholic, the splenetic, and the balanced man, the fool and the
sage, the enthusiast and the stick-in-the-mud, the talkative and
the taciturn, and, most dilemmal of all, the consistent and the
inconsistent. Similarily, it seemed to him a fine thing to be fat
as to be lean, to be short as tall, homely as handsome...and as for
ethics, could he have been all three and not just one, he'd have
enjoyed dying once a saint, onve a frightful sinner, and once
lukewarm between the two.
The man...was dizzy with the beauty of the possible; dazzled, he
threw up his hands at choice and like ungainly flotsam rode
half-content the tide of change."-John Barth The Sotweed
Factory
That pretty much sums it up. I know it is uncreative to quote
someone else for my profile, but i don't care...and i care dearly.

spinnin' my wheels at the moment (not literally)
Just got a shit job to pay for my vices and loans. Who knows how
long it will last?
Not literal shit. and not "the shit."
I'm really good at Propose an edit
Tell you what i'm not good at: thinking of things i'm good at, also
sorta suck at grammar when i'm not paying attention to it.
I might be good at funny? I used to be in a comedy group when i was
in college, but haven't really tried any open mics in cleveland
because i have no self-confidence. Eugene Mirman, Mitch Hedberg, and
Steven
Wright are among my favorite comedy peoples
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit

the relationship between humor and fear. seriously look at someone
who is so afraid they're screaming and a picture of someone
laughing hysterically.
How to be original, witty, happy and inscrutable without being
pretentious.
I am so afraid of being pretentious. It is ridiculous. I stopped
writing because of it. I try to hide when reading in public because
of it. It is the scariest thing in the world.
