I am complicated, creative, and cynical.

My Self-Summary

I don't really think this bit should be required. I struggle with stuff like this because it's too vague and I feel like I'm blathering.
And every time I go to add something to this bit I imagine the blind date music and Cilla Black asking me to tell everyone a bit about myself. Well Cilla...
Essentially I'm a half empty tea cup. My name's Kym and I live in Edinburgh, though I'm originally from Leicester and moved out when I was 18 to go to the University of Chester. I like to explore new places and think sticking in the same place is incredibly dull.
In my spare time I like to watch films, read, draw, cycle and swim, and dance and drink with friends.

I had an okcupid account for awhile for quizzes but only recently made a proper profile, I'm not specifically here for dating so much as making more friends around Edinburgh and Scotland and just having more people to talk to. If I did meet someone special on here though that'd definitely be a bonus. I've very recently came out of a long term and pretty horribly soul destroying serious relationship so I'm not looking for anything serious just now. But in the long run I'm looking for someone I can cook yummy food and big cakes for, cuddle up to while watching films and exhaust on a nightly basis ;) All I ask for in return is to be treated like a princess.

What I’m doing with my life

Trying to get on with it.

Currently I'm working lots trying to raise funds so I can do a post-grad course. However, I'm not sure when this is going to happen.

I’m really good at

doodling cooking drawing decorating Listening sewing scribbling daydreaming being geeky

over complicating things and thinking too much, making cups of tea, being a mummy to my kitten. Making strangers like me, talking too much and making inappropriate disclosures of personal information. Making people laugh. Spending money.

The first things people usually notice about me

"My god that girl's wearing a lot of eyeliner!"

Or that I'm a bit strange.
Not always the first thing, but people generally notice that I can behave quite differently each time you meet me depending on what mood I'm in.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

books: chuck palahniuk monsters, fight club, RANT, lullaby
irvine welsh ecstasy, if you liked school, you'll love work, marabou stork nightmares.
neil gaimen neverwhere, smoke and mirrors.
bret eaton ellis american psycho, lunar park, glamorama, the rules of attraction, less than zero.
Ian McEwan the cement garden, enduring love, atonement, the innocent.
fear and loathing in las vegas. the belljar, paradise lost, the heart is deceitful above all things, perfume, lolita, clockwork orange. little children, April fool's day, girl interrupted.

feelms: REPO! the genetic opera Rocky Horror Picture Show fight club twelve monkeys hedwig and the angry inch se7en american beauty leon may christiane F sin city trainspotting natural born killers endless sunshine of the spotless mind almost famous rosemary's baby requiem for a dream interview with the vampire hot fuzz big nothing watchmen the virgin suicides Hedwig and the angry Inch and all of Tim Burton's films. etc etc.

Music: Ummm... I like music right across the spectrum of genres and sub genres. However my two main scenes are Doom Metal and loud screaming girl music, I'll give you a few examples.
Doom Metal Swallow the sun, Candlemass, shape of Despair, Esoteric, My Dying Bride, Mourning Beloveth, Katatonia.
Fem Rock Queen Adreena, Florence and the Machine, Goldfrapp, The Dresden Dolls, Rilo Kiley, Rasputina, etc etc.
Other favourite bands include; a perfect circle, tool, the cure, nine inch nails, placebo Marilyn Manson

Food: Well I'm veggie and although I wouldn't say that I was fussy about food (apart from the no meat or fish thing) I do like to prepare my own food. This is partly for health reasons and partly because I enjoy cooking.

The six things I could never do without

1.) sleep
2.) eyeliner
3.) Poppet (my cat)
4.) pseudo intellectualism as a defence mechanism
5.) glitter and sparkles
6.) a good book or a notepad and pen

I spend a lot of time thinking about

I don't really think so much as daydream and theorize my surroundings. Most of the time I feel like when I'm supposedly awake I'm actually trapped in a dream that's turned into a nightmare and can't wake up.

On a typical Friday night I am

wishing I was somewhere else.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I sleep with pandas, on a regular basis.

You should message me if

you bothered to read this far. Just to say hi at least.
