I love:
-entertaining, and I've been known to throw a mad dinner party or two in my day
-exploring, although recently I've realized how much of the US that I've missed. This must be remedied.
-learning! I am trying something new. Recently I've pickied up the guitar...

My life is pretty great.
By day I teach science to elementary students. (You haven't seen joy until you've seen a student create a complete circuit all by himself!)
By night I have laughs with my fabulous friends.
In the in-between I travel around the world seeing new places and meeting up with old friends.

untangling knots
navigating crowds
making pumpkin pie
finding the perfect gift

If I had to venture a guess, I'd say:

My ability to leap tall buildings in a single bound
My nose in a book
My rapier wit
My piercing blue eyes

But really, I have no idea.

Rather than pinning me down to specific books, how about a short list of my favorite writers?: Jane Austen, Mo Willems, the Sedaris family, Charles Dickens, AJ Jacobs. I have recently been revisiting Agatha Christie. She's fantastic!

Movies: It Happened One Night, The Philadelphia Story, The Princess Bride, Dirty Dancing, The Breakfast Club, Anne of Green Gables, Empire Records, Singin' in the Rain, Bull Durham

Shows:
-TV: The Newsroom, The West Wing, The Daily Show/Colbert Report, Dr Who, Ed, Top Gear, Sports Night, Smash, The Muppet Show (Sightly Sorkin obsessed? Guilty as charged.)
-Radio: Radiolab, Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, This American Life, Jonathan Schwartz, A Prairie Home Companion. I am an NPR nerd.

Music: Great Big Sea, James Taylor, 80's pop, Regina Spektor, Ella Fitzgerald, I'm kind of all over the map.

Food: I eat just about everything, with 2 exceptions:
1. I grew up with an allergy to chocolate, and while I outgrew the allergy, I did not outgrow my disdain.
2. I am a total wimp when it comes to spicy food. Amazingly this doesn't keep me out of Indian or Thai restaurants.

No seriously, can anyone explain this to me?

Fridays tend to be low key, dinner and drinks with friends.
Saturdays, on the other hand are usually an adventure.

I cry at the end of The Little Mermaid. Every. Single. Time.
