I love to smile and laugh and find ways to seek humor in all aspects of my life. I enjoy making other people do the same. Most people are happy to see me - well most people.

My true loves/passions are music (especially blues and jazz), archaeology and teaching, but not necessarily in that order.

I'd describe myself as a tall, affable, affectionate, intelligent, self confident, easy going, fun loving, sincere, warm, passionate and eclectic woman that has much to offer. Did I use enough adjectives? Oh yeah, and I'm a red head. lol

I'm looking for someone who works at staying healthy - physically, mentally and emotionally. Someone to share my interests (and theirs too) in music, the outdoors, art, literature, culture and theater/movies.

I've been on my own most of my adult life and enjoy my independence, however I'd like to meet someone who would be my best friend, my sweetheart, my passionate lover and a companion to explore the world with.

My ideal man can make me laugh out loud and he can show me tenderness. He's able to be a kid and have fun with me. I'm attracted to him because he has a good heart and a way with words. I find articulate men very attractive. Oh yes, I also love a man that is good in the kitchen - a definite plus!

In addition to teaching high school kids I help coach my school's badminton team. Lot's of hours and work but very rewarding. The kids are awesome.

I'm an information sponge. I love to learn new things.

Making brownies. At least that's what my students tell me. lol

Teaching mathematics, but don't let that scare you away. My students tell me I'm a very cool teacher which coming from them is a compliment.

Not really sure but probably my height, my smile, my hair and my infectious laugh. I like to laugh and love making other people do the same. I've been told I have a wicked laugh.

My favorite brother-in-law says I'm a bit loquacious but not annoying. lol

I love music 24/7. Did I mention that already? Especially blues and jazz but most other music as well.

I have a M.S. in archaeology so love museums and any type of rock art whether it be pictographs or petroglyphs. National Geo is a favorite read of mine.

Enjoy the theater, nature, the desert, the redwoods, the beach, trips to the wine country, anything outdoors.

Recent books include Is It Just Me? by Whoopi Goldberg, Making Rounds With Oscar, The Autobiography of B. B. King, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Am fond of anything George Carlin has written. Love Robin Williams.

Just saw To Rome With Love (another great Woody Allen movie) and MoonRise Kingdom. Both excellent films.

Favorite place for fish tacos is the Smoke House in Cayucos.

Anything they serve at Baywolf in Oakland.

Will go anywhere to hear a good blues or jazz band live.

Some of my favorite local blues artists are Chris Cain, Robben Ford, and Tommy Castro.

The blues legends include Willie Dixon, B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Freddie King, Albert King, Jimmie Reed, Tbone Walker, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix , Stevie Ray Vaughn, Bonnie Raitt and oh so many more.

Also love jazz artists like Pancho Sanchez, Issac Delgado, Grover Washington Jr., John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Jeff Golub, Euge Groove, Chris Botti, and Greg Adams.

Am also fond of Norah Jones, Van Morrison, Fleetwood Mac, Willie Nelson, Hank Williams Sr., Steely Dan, and Boz Scaggs.

I could keep listing my favs but that is probably better saved for a first date discussion. Can you tell I like music? lol

Hmmm. That list is probably more than six but to name a few:
Music, family, sunlight, Peet's coffee, my glasses, my tennis shoes.

How fortunate I am to be alive and healthy. That I can see, walk, talk, hear, think, and can laugh at myself. And I do that a lot.

Oh yes, and how soon I can get off this site because I've met someone I am simpatico with.

Nothing typical about my Friday nights. Could be at a movie, the gym, a new restaurant, a blues/jazz club, home making dinner, out to dinner with friends, home cuddling with my cats.

I'm a great kisser (or so I've been told). That's something you will have to judge for yourself. :)

Oh yeah, and that I'm an ailurophile. That's not really so private. lol
