I am super smart, confident, and witty.

My Self-Summary

I like philosophy, politics, psychology, logic, debating, anthropology, youtube, wikipedia, games, cricket, football, soccer, tennis, board games, card games, video games and music with a beat.

People find me intimidating. I'm stand-offish because I can't be bothered with most people. Yeah yeah, I should give everyone a chance I've heard it before. Let's be realistic, I don't have time to assume that everyone I meet is interesting by default. You have to stand out to get noticed.

I'm not really out to heal the world and make it a better place. On the other hand, I do love finding solutions to problems and making things more efficient, which often sees my opinons line up with people interested in all that social justice junk anyway! That shouldn't surprise anyone who has thought much about how society and morality intertwine.

I've a silly, wry sense of humour. I'm known for my puns. When I think of a pun I'll fire it, with no thought to the destruction it may cause. They variously elicit pained groans and big laughs. Clever stuff kills me. The Animator vs Animation and the Wizard People, Dear Reader clips on YouTube had me in stitches.

I love reading in cafes.

What I’m doing with my life

Studying IT, Statistics and Creative Writing at the University of Canberra. Getting over depression. I'm hoping to move to the US in the next few years to design board and card games.

I spend a lot of time reorganising my head. I feel that introspection is a critical element of self-improvement and that most people do far too little of it. Some people accuse me of over-analysing things but I think being in tune with yourself and the world around you requires thought.

I’m really good at

Explaining things
Running
Expressing myself
Games
Making people comfortable
Being silent
Rationalising
Problem Solving
Listening
Cuddling
Comprehending
Not Judging You

The first things people usually notice about me

My frown. I'm always concentrating. When I smile it's teeth, dimples and all but I frown a lot. Nothing's wrong I promise, it's just my thinking face.
My intensity. It's related to the thinking. I don't spend a whole lot of time on small talk, I prefer the business end of conversation.
My intelligence. I express my views freely and eloquently.

I'm skinny. 6'1 with a 28" waist skinny, although I'm muscular enough to avoid the 'scrawny' tag. My friends have occasionally marveled at the way they can see my muscles, tendons, and veins shift as I move.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

The Life of Pi, Catcher in the Rye, The Assassin's Gate, Not Quite the Diplomat, The Brain that Changed Itself, D&D sourcebooks, good textbooks.
---
The Dark Knight, Star Wars, The Matrix, Terminator 2, Aliens, Zombie Movies, horror flicks.
---
Anything with a Beat really - from Infected Mushroom/Paul Oakenfold to Tool/NIN to Britney/Rihanna
---
Cakes and Sweets, Sticky Date Pudding, Baked Custard Tarts, Thai, Turkish and Indian cuisine.

The six things I could never do without

At various points I've been without most of the stuff that immediately springs to mind.

Laptop w/ Internet: Not only does it contain the repository of all knowledge(wikipedia) and humour(youtube), but it's my link to the world(google news) and many of my overseas friends (Instant Messengers). It even plays games and warms my thighs during winter!

Mum: She's almost perennially cranky but loves me to bits. It's mutual.

A Comfortable Bed: A good bed is pure bliss sometimes. It also facilitates spooning.

Problems: Problems have solutions, and finding solutions is the most fun ever! I'm pretty good in a bind.

The ability to count to six: Self-evident, right?

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Thae aforementioned topics in my self-summary.

Stuff like:

How Australian Foreign Policy can influence world affairs
How to become president of the USA
How to mediate the Israel/Palestine conflict
How to explain the Scientific Method to creationists
How to snap out of my various funks
How to fix soccer so that there are less draws
How to avoid dying in whatever RPG I'm playing
How I'd teach someone whatever it is I'm thinking about

On a typical Friday night I am

50% at home on my laptop
50% having dinner and board games with the lads.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

Um, gee. I totally flew to Canada for a girl I'd known online for 2 months when I was 18. Who does that?! Naive never-been-in-love guys apparently.

You should message me if

...you think my answers are appealing, naturally. I mean, let's face it, if my profile doesn't appeal to you, we're not cut-out for much.

I'd prefer it if you considered yourself pretty darn smart and weren't terribly insecure.
