My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
A gainfully employed dude with a scientific bent, highly interested in politics (I am a lefty), easily amused, but requires frequent strong coffee in conjunction with extended conversation about sex, politics, religion, drugs, doom metal, and even the mundane nature of it all.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Good question. I like to do science since I am a scientist and it is indeed a most noble profession. In particular, I like to do atmospheric and climate science, so feel free to send me your weather and climate change questions. I am a big fan of the outdoors and try and make excuses to be outside. It seems like I am traveling a lot, too, these days for various reasons, mostly work. I am sure I am more interesting than this but I am too busy thinking about the next grant proposal I have to write!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I was told by a colleague today that I am "The Ron Jeremy of our research group." Probably true.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I will read pretty much anything by Cormac McCarthy, Philip Roth, and Erik Larson. Recently, I was really into presidential and political biographies up to the LBJ era.

Really, really enjoyed Mad Max 3D. I also really enjoyed The Wrecking Crew. Made me think differently about pop music of the 1950s and 1960s.

Although I am not a hipster, my musical tastes are pretty hardcore hipster-like. Admittedly, I do have a weakness for various forms of metal, punk, electronica, jazz, classical (especially live), and gangster hip-hop. Saw Sufjan Stevens a few days ago (incredible) and an acoustical show by Ty Segall at the Satellite (also incredible).

Yes, it is true, I do also like tasty food and refreshing beverages.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Belgian ale or IPA served in an appropriate glass.

Great music served in an appropriate set of Bose headphones or speakers, or better yet, live.

Exploring the great outdoors and hopefully hiking to some random destination very few people get to see.

Travel internationally at least once a year.

Funding from the federal gov't and crazy fun science problems to work on.

Chillaxing with my great group of homies.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Clouds and weather. Seriously. Politics. Honestly, I can't fucking stand most republicans. How the world works. Food. Baseball. Go Giants! Sexy, intelligent and interesting people. Retirement in 25 years or less. Where my next adventure will take place. Cool bands I want to see live or listen to.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Only insert random deity knows. There's a good chance of more predictability in a Vegas slot machine.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over. are a smart, have-it-together, fun and interesting and beautiful and charming and witty and confident gal with a modicum (or more) of ambition for anything and everything you desire, worldly, and not walking dead. Happy and content is good but I also like a dash of surly and cynical, too.
