My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
A gainfully employed dude with a scientific bent, highly interested in politics (I am a lefty), the ordinary and extraordinary in people and other life forms, easily amused, but requires frequent strong coffee in conjunction with extended conversation about sex, politics, religion, drugs, doom metal, and even the mundane nature of it all.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
A lot. I study the Earth's climate and clouds for a living. I like to spend a significant amount of time outdoors traveling around, hiking (from the mellow stroll to the crazy shit), biking, skiing, playing racquetball and walking around various 'hoods for which I am wearing the wrong color(s).
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I was told by a colleague today that I am "The Ron Jeremy of our research group." Probably true.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My chiseled calves. Or my graceful gait. Or is it my personality?

I will read pretty much anything by Cormac McCarthy, Philip Roth, and Erik Larson. Recently, I was really into presidential and political biographies up to the LBJ era.

Battlefield Earth is the greatest movie ever. Not.

There are way too many genres, artists, and bands of interest to list out in detail, but here are a few among the more pretentious indie, hip-hop and metal parts of the tuneage spectrum: Animal Collective, Arcade Fire, Big K.R.I.T., Biosphere, Boards of Canada, Boris, Califone, DFA 1979, Deerhunter, Destroyer, Dr. Octagon, Electric Wizard, Fever Ray, Gonjasufi, Grizzly Bear, High On Fire, Iggy Pop, Immortal, Jesu, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Mastodon, MF Doom, My Bloody Valentine, Neil Young, Of Montreal, Om, Oneida, Opeth, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Pale Sketcher, QOTSA, Ramesses, Six Organs of Admittance, Spoon, Sufjan Stevens, Sunn O))), Swan Lake, T. Rex, Tame Impala, Will Oldham, Wire and Wolf Parade.

I love to go out to eat in LA with the variety of cuisine at the tips of our tongues. Oh yeah. I am a big fan of sushi, but my simultaneous love for maguro and desire of seeing massive pods of beautiful and athletic tuna survive the seas beyond my lifetime is a difficult topic to ponder.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Belgian beer served in an appropriate glass.

A continuous stream of indie music dreamers ready to make that next great record that I'll listen to for years.

An unpredictable year-to-year bloom above 2000' in the LA County mountains. Mother Nature is epic, even in LA.

The New York Times.

One of those memory eraser things from Men In Black so I can take down some of my least favorite senators and congressmen. (Or is this category supposed to be serious?)

Those beautiful black widows that occasionally grace my place of residence. I wish they could fight back against the brown widows in a spider version of "The Battle of LA".
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
No doubt, The Earth's atmosphere consumes a significant portion of my brain power. I'm usually thinking about possibilities for hiking adventures in the southern half of CA and elsewhere. Politics. How the world works. Food. Baseball. Sexy, intelligent and interesting people, and engaging with them. I would rather listen to music, but I do think about how awesome some of the music that I listen to actually is.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Only insert random deity knows. There's a good chance of more predictability in a Vegas slot machine.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
These days, I think that every republican serves as a host for some alien species. That could explain the lack of humanity.

...you are a smart, have-it-together-in-some-super-awesome way, fun and interesting and beautiful and charming and witty and confident gal with a modicum (or more) of ambition, drive, desire of anything and everything beautiful, awe inspiring, worldly and entirely alive. Not walking dead. Happy and content is good. In summary, someone who really knows how to bring it.
