My self-summary
I just moved to New York from DC, so I'm trying to learn the ins and outs of this new city. So far I've learned that living in the city will be an exercise in tiny aparent living (since when is 250 square feet considered normal? Weirdddd), and that people think I'm a crazy person when I smile when passing them on the street. Who knew? I think if I just keep smiling, I'll break them down soon enough, ha! Also, still waiting to see if I can find some policy wonks to nerd out with, preferably over some delicious food and wine :)

Otherwise, I'm a museum-goer, enjoy the theater, and love the movies. I like to play tennis and brunch with friends on the weekend. I also play pick-up field hockey with the old folk, where we try desperately not to hurt ourselves.

I'm really into politics - I'll talk your ear off on anything related to the Arab world. I love to travel and explore new cultures, and equally love going home and spending time with my family.
What I’m doing with my life
I work at an awesome organization that promotes women's advancement around the world. Sometimes that entails chasing prime ministers down the street, or making small talk with guests who speak an obscure language (read: lots of gesticulating and smiling!)
I’m really good at
talking fast, skiing, color-coordination, making hummus
The first things people usually notice about me
I laugh a lot. If I think something is really funny, you'll get a chortle out of me. And my curly hair.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
A few favorite authors: Salman Rushdie, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Khaled Hosseini, Ahmed Rasheed, Raymond Carver

The Breakfast Club, Bridesmaids, Out of Africa, Love Actually, Muppet Treasure Island (can we all just agree already that it was the best movie of the 90s?...or Robin Hood Men in Tights)

I love Lebanese and Moroccan food, Mexican, Thai, Japanese... eggs benedict...really, anything. Chocolate is a food group.
The six things I could never do without
my passport
On a typical Friday night I am
hanging out with friends, seeing a movie, spending way too long at happy hour (is there such a thing?), usually something low-key.
I’m looking for
  • Straight guys only
  • Ages 27–35
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating
You should message me if
You like to have intellectual conversations as much as seemingly unimportant conversations (the most important?) about the new British royal. You like nerdy games like scrabble. Bonus points if you like to play tennis or squash! Oh, and I really like guys who take the initiative, so send me a message :)

Also, definitely send me a message if you know where a gal can get a nice glass of Lombrusco in this city. If so, you win at life.
