I've learned a lot more about myself in the past year, so I'll update this a little bit. I haven't deleted what I wrote before, I just separated it with asterisks for now.

I am way more romantic than I ever thought I was. I'll look at the sky sometimes and will feel like crying because it's so beautiful. I enjoy experiences that make me think and reflect on life. I enjoy music that moves me emotionally. I don't need to understand the lyrics or be familiar with the style. The feeling I get from it can be enough.

I am a very simplistic person in that I don't require many THINGS to live comfortably, but I do require people around me to be able to contribute greatly to my life, as I will do the same in return.

Although I like to experience new things and new places, routines do not scare me. If I find people and places I love, there is nothing quite as great as revisiting them. I do not need to be in constant motion in order to be content. I am much more into relaxing activities than into overstimulating ones.

I love documentaries. I also love foreign movies and movies that move me. Some of the best movies I have seen are those that allow the images and colors to speak for themselves. The best thing about this is figuring out if the next time I watch the same sequence I will feel the same, or if something changed and makes me interpret it differently.

I really enjoy the little things in life. I like to demonstrate how much I care about people through everyday actions. That being said, I'm not big on buying people things, unless I think they could actually use them. Hey, I just realized that I was trying to say that I'm a very practical person...funny!

My family and friends are terribly important to me. I have a very good relationship with my parents and brother and consider myself extremely fortunate to have the quality of friends I have.

I enjoy my job very much, but because I invest so much in it, it can sometimes be a bit draining. I would love to create my own business within my profession, and am currently working on it. I've always wanted to have my own business. I can't imagine living paycheck to paycheck for the rest of my life.

I have always been interested in learning things in general. I especially enjoy learning about different cultures, history, languages, etc. I love that stuff. Most of the books I read fall into those categories. It's funny how just a few years back I used to read a lot of magical realism and fiction in general, but lately I've been much more into non-fiction like historical novels, religious studies, cultural trends, etc. Maybe it's just a phase...

I am not looking for anything in particular as far meeting someone here. I would appreciate meeting great people, regardless of what my relationship to them would be. I am, however, definitely open to love and would cherish someone special in that sense if I came across her.

I am funny, caring, and easy going.

Lately I've been mostly taking care of myself and thinking a lot, as funny as that may sound. I have recently become more contemplative of life in general; I like it :).

I am a full time teacher, which I really enjoy. I am currently working on starting some kind of business. I have a few ideas, but I really need to sit down and plan the details.

I am starting to re-study my old Italian books. I used to be really good at it, but because I haven't practiced in a while, I've forgotten a good amount of it. Eros Ramazzotti has been helping me with it...

I'm a great listener. I have a lot say as well, I just don't tend to cut people's inspiration. I also love to learn new things, even if they are seemingly irrelevant.

I am great at making people feel comfortable. I guess at times you could call me a people person. Sometimes--not too often--I need my own space.

I am good at being there when you need me. If we have a mutually caring relationship, friendly or more intimate, you can definitely count on me.

I'm good at making people laugh. My humor can be really dry and sarcastic at times. Sometimes I can also be a total nerd.

I look very serious an then are surprised when they get to know me better.

Fav books: La casa de los Espiritus, El Amor en los Tiempos del Colera, In the Time of the Butterflies, The Other Boleyn Girl, A brief History of Time, and things like that.

Fav. movies: (I tend to enjoy foreign movies a lot): All About My Mother, Tacones Lejanos, Amelie, Avatar, Como Agua Para Chocolate, Mi life in Pink, etc.

Music: I'll listen to anything as long as it's interesting to me: regional Mexican, opera, country, arabic, classical, etc.

food: I love trying new foods! some favorites include: spicy tuna, chilaquiles, ethiopian, chinese soups, oatmeal, things made from whole wheat...believe it or not I actually try to eat healthy.
