labyrinthine, sensual, and sharp

My self-summary Propose an edit

Half-crazy, half-sane, I am highly liminal.

I've spent a lot of time online for most of my life, and it probably shows.

I am an esoteric Discordian and run a large website for such. I like to create public ritual, sometimes in a gorilla suit.

I am polyamorous and have a longterm partner (metaphorge) with whom I am madly in love (madly madly madly), and a few other intimates. I am a Kinsey 4.5 bisexual. I'm kinky. I like computers, and making art stuff. I am very silly, though I guess it's hard to read into this profile. I like complicated queer people who like computers & maybe overthink stuff from time to time & want to make the world a more interesting place. I want to meet people who live their lives in dark and bright colors. I like people with fire.

I like to read, cook, do film photography, make things, watch movies, solder, weld stuff, have sex, imagine.

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit

Laughing, screaming, aspiring, dreaming, reinterpreting, communicating, loving, diving into the wreck.... I have an awesome job doing tech stuff. I talk to people. I play with Unix. I love to cook. I am very community-oriented and I'm trying to build a family of awesome freaks. I am a culture jammer. I like to read. I am trying to dance more. I want to eat the world.

I'm really good at Propose an edit

I'm really bad at hula hooping, but really good at trying and laughing when I fail. I am really good at facilitating communication between others, and at public speaking. I'm a decent photographer, and what I lack in skill I make up for in enthusiasm (which can be said about a number of things, really).

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit

While not audible all the time, people tend to first notice my heroic theme song and my embarrassing propensity to offer more words than I can eat.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit

Books: _Foucault's Pendulum_ by Umberto Eco is my favorite book. I also love various books by Milan Kundera, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Haruki Murakami, Tom Robbins, David Sedaris, Margaret Atwood, Lisa Goldstein, Neil Gaiman, Salman Rushdie, Octavia Butler. Being a Discordian, I must mention Robert Anton Wilson.

Movies: My Dinner with Andre, A Chef in Love, Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, Me and You and Everyone We Know, Life is Beautiful, The Matrix, Edward Scissorhands, Nightmare Before Christmas, Big Fish.

Music: Oingo Boingo, Dresden Dolls, Concrete Blonde, Iva Bittova, Modest Mouse, Sleater-Kinney, Imogen Heap, Le Tigre, Goran Bregovic, Monks of Doom, Kate Bush, Pop Will Eat Itself, Rilo Kiley, Shriekback, Severed Heads, Tricky, Placebo, U.N.K.L.E., Peter Murphy, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Shakira (yeah, yeah, I know).

Food: Cherries, pesto, marinated rare steak, fresh oysters on the half shell, dim sum, carnitas tacos, strawberries....

The six things I could never do without Propose an edit

I don't even know what to put here. Uh, food? Water? Sleep? Sex? I guess those mostly aren't "things" as such. Computer, phone, car, clothing? Srsly, wtf kind of question is this anyways?

I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit

Art, photography, the internets, how to be better at my job, politics, dancing skeletons, lifestyle as ritual, sigils, silly costumes, the future, gothy geeky hot girls, sex, semiotics, electronics, work, subverting the dominant paradigm (and other bumper stickers), queer theory, identity formation, growing up (in a good way), what to do with my new back yard, Unix, the politics of dancing?

On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit

I like everything from Cacophony-style art events to melting at a cafe with a book or my laptop. Sometimes I'll meet a friend and we'll have fabulous adventures where we drink coffee, eat dinner, and negotiate universal peace with aliens. Sometimes, piracy. And sometimes, I just like to go home and rent a movie.

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit

I am only a 97% match for myself. There's still that 3% that I & I can never quite reconcile. Also, I like ampersands.

You should message me if Propose an edit

You should message me if you have superpowers to share, a confusing gender identity, striped stockings and a wicked sense of humor. Sorry boys, I don't play with straight men (or most men at all, though there are a few, msg me if we have a high match). I'm extroverted and (mostly) friendly, so if you can see a patternmatch, send me a note.

I've spent the last couple of years hiding out a little, and now that things have just about turned around, it's time to be social again. I'd like to find more friends and lovers, and wrap myself in a community of awesome freaks. Extra points if you live in the east bay (I've just moved to Oakland and don't know too many others in the area).
