I am mordant, aspiring, and well-read.

My Self-Summary

Well, I graduated from Shorter College a while back. Which was interesting, as it gave me some very, ah, unique views on religion. But that's better for talking about in person. Otherwise, I have a great sense of humor, even if it is very sarcastic. I figured it couldn't hurt to try using this thing. I love talking about politics, as well as having any sort of intellectual conversation in general. Oh, and I'm a really a big dork at heart. Although "at heart" makes it sound like it's something that's not obvious, so maybe that's not the best term.

What I’m doing with my life

Working, at the moment. Trying to get into law school for this fall. Maybe something political long term. I'm also not opposed to some awesome job like the Mythbusters have, where I get to do cool stuff all day long and still get paid for it. It's really kind of a hard question. I know everyone sort of wanted to be President when they were little, but I never really gave up on that. Hehe. Although, failing that, I could settle for a membership on the SCOTUS and be just as happy. Of course, if NASA ever has a need for completely unprofessional astronauts, I wouldn't turn that down either.

I’m really good at

Er, let's see here. Video games in general. Which is horribly nerdy, I know, but that's probably pretty average for everyone on here, so why not go with it. And, actually, board games and stuff like that too. Risk, monopoly, card games, whatever. Randomly enough, I'm good at standardized tests. I don't know why, it's not like I ever prepare for the things. Hmmm, what else is there. Oh, actually, I'm pretty good with technology in general. I'm the person who also gets called on to program family member's DVD players and VCRs and iPods and so on. And to fix the computers. And I'm really good at arguing with people, or at least I think I am.

The first things people usually notice about me

Hmmm. I really don't know. I suppose I'll have to ask some of my friends and get back to this one. Looks wise, I'm pretty average. I don't wear any jewelry 'cause I haven't found any I like yet, not even a watch. (Does anyone still wear a watch? Isn't that why we have cell phones?) I'll come back to this one.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

A. Good lord. Most recently I read The Golden Compass, which gets put intsantly into my favorites list because it was amazingly good, especially for something that is supposed to be a children's book. Ummm.... stuff by Kurt Vonnegut and Mark Twain. Ender's game and the rest of that series. Dune, Freakonomics, Confessions of an Economic Hitman, all the old Calvin and Hobbes books, Wicked, Son of a Witch, Misquoting Jesus, Inherit the Wind, books by Mencken, and that's just what's sitting on my desk. Terry Pratchett. Douglas Adams. Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal. We'll end this list here because it would take all day.

B. V for Vendetta was probably my favorite movie of the last decade. Also Star Wars, Dune, every episode of MST3K, Kung Fu Hustle, Boondock Saints, Anchorman, Mel Brookes movies, and so on and so forth.

C. Hmmm. Stuff I've liked lately includes Weezer, Green Day, and that new song by Panic! at the Disco that they play about once every five minutes but I still like it for reasons I can't fully explain. Oh, also, I like a lot of musicals. Yeah, that's right. I said it. So there.

D. Sushi! Also most asian stuff, or mexican, or really pretty much anything, honestly. If I've never had it before I'm willing to try it. Also and especially stuff that I've cooked. I'm a pretty decent chef, or at least I like to pretend I am. Your mileage my vary there.

The six things I could never do without

1. Books. 2. the Internet. [/nerd] Seriously, is there anything Google doesn't know? 3. good friends. 4. errr.... my car? I'm starting to run out here. 5. Money? 6. Friends who live elsewhere and are an excuse to leave Woodstock because it tends to be boring.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Politics. Too much about that, honestly. And about religion. As well as all sorts of stuff I'd like to learn about, usually about whatever I happen to be reading. Anything from theoretical physics to why UPN still exists as a television station. I'm pretty random like that.

On a typical Friday night I am

Doing things. Playing games with friends. Rock Band! Board games. Going out. Seeing a movie. Not seeing a movie.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I almost tried out for American Idol. But then I read the contract that said you basically had to sign over everything for the rest of forever to Fox. Not so big on that.

You should message me if

You're single and vaguely interested in the same things. Or just want to talk about stuff, really. Or if you want to yell at me or something; I'm bored. Or if you want to shower me with praise, money, and/or undeserved gifts. It could never hurt, you know!
