My self-summary
Last night I heard the tenant above me blaring Sufjan Stevens. I started to craft an elaborate character of that tenant being my soul mate, until I realized that I didn't even know their gender.
What I’m doing with my life
About every six weeks I google a small band from Québec that I really really like hoping they've released some new music. Going on four years now.

Filled my Hyundai with my favorite stuff and moved out west from Kansas City a year ago. Hoping to write comedy for television, right now I'm editing video and diggin' it.
I’m really good at
The one legitimate talent I have is that I'm pretty decent at photography (here's some of my stuff - I used to be pretty good at knowing movie stuff, but then I moved to Los Angeles and lost any ubiquity that brought me.

I'm also well-practiced in the art of walking. I take off and wander for hours at a time when I can, with nothing but my camera and an iPhone overstuffed with podcasts.

Other than that I'm just good at bringing up hilarious late 90s pop songs - what's the deal with LFO am I right!?
The first things people usually notice about me
My hair is weird. Sometimes that means I have an irish afro, and other times that means I have a beard that would draw cries of celebration and jealousy in Echo Park. Right now it's the latter, and it does a great job of getting drunk guys to start conversations with me.

The first thing that people notice about me at parties is that I don't drink. I don't think this is that big of a deal and it's totally cool if you're no teetotaler - but I'm not that into hanging out with people that get drunk more often than occasionally.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
A Confederacy of Dunces, A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, Watchmen, those Harry Potter things

Films directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, Wes Anderson, the Coen Brothers, David Fincher, Stanley Kubrick, Hayao Miyazaki, Christopher Nolan, Steven Soderbergh, Quentin Tarantino, Andrei Tarkovsky. My favorite film is 'Paris, Texas'.

Adventure Time, Arrested Development, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Breaking Bad, Lost, Mad Men, New Girl, Parks & Recreation, The Simpsons, Unsolved Mysteries, The Wire

Arcade Fire, Cloud Nothings, Cut Copy, DIIV, Greg Dulli, LCD Soundsystem, Mew, New Order, Pavement, Radiohead, Sigur Rós, Kanye West, Yo La Tengo.

Hamburgers and pizzas. I like salads too, but everytime I eat one I just want some damn hamburgers and pizzas.
The six things I could never do without
Songs, movies, walks, my camera, Wikipedia and podcasts.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Trying to place errant memories that might have been dreams geographically, the semantics of entirely unimportant statements, jokes from 'The Simpsons'
On a typical Friday night I am
I'm probably at the movies.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
In 2005, a radio station gave away the ending to a then-new Harry Potter book. I called for an apology, and they just laughed at me. But then I showed them - I made a sign, drove to the station, protested, and in the end they laughed at me. They still bring me up on the air every once and a while.
