I am vivacious, patient, and an explorer.
My Self-Summary
Much to my friend's great recommendations of this site, I'm here!
Moved recently to the U.S. and am still figuring my way around
here. Every day's new and at the end of the day it's essential that
I look back and ponder if I learnt something new or challenged
myself through the day.
I'm a sucker for good food and travel. I'd like to consider myself
as compassionate and kind. I'm immensely patient (usually) and as
much as people may try to push my buttons, it's much to their vain.
I have a loud, addictive laughter and have been told by friends
back home that that's all they miss about me!
I tend to think a lot and it's important for me to get my space to
reflect and analyze. Having said that, quality time matters for me
and when I meet my closest friends I insist that they don't play
with their damn i-phones or sms!!! I like being challenged in my
thought process and once I set my mind and heart on something, I
get out there and get it!
I read people fairly well and believe that often actions speak
louder than words. It doesn't take me much time to tune into some
of your thoughts and often on a train or the bus or a class, I
usually analyze people a lot (no, I'm not psychic or a freak - I
don't stare!!!). My heart always goes out to the elderly, the
youngest and animals...
What I’m doing with my life
A Masters student graduating soon - trying to figure out what my
next steps should be, admiring the beauty of Spring, traveling and
exploring new regions, trying to knock off the extra kilos and
volunteering.
I’m really good at
Listening to people rant and allow them to share their frustrations
and their happiness. My patience plays in here and I can just sit
and listen to people talk endlessly (if they make some sense that
is!).
Looking after pets and animals. I don't think twice about petting a
friendly, stray dog or cat. I think caring for animals brings a
different kind of dimension to your personality. If you love
animals, you definitely get brownie pts. from me!
Making the best chocolate sauce ever! Trust me on that.
The first things people usually notice about me
My smile and infectious, loud laugh!
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Disclaimer - I'm terrible at deciding my 'favorite'. The only
favorite thing of mine is my favorite color which is BLUE. Any
shade of blue, any hue of it and it's my top choice!
Books - The Kite Runner, The Namesake, Speeches that changed the
world, The Animal Farm and so many more that I'm not doing justice
to by not being able to remember!
Movies - Any crazy bollywood, Indian film (no, Slumdog millionaire
is NOT an Indian film and all bollywood films don't revolve around
running around trees and dancing); Sound of Music, Chitty Chitty
Bang Bang (grew up watching those 2); Finding Nemo; To Sir, with
Love; Sister Act; My Big Fat Greek Wedding; LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL (all
time fav.); Braveheart; Pulp Fiction
Music - Any world music is perfect from any part of the world. Not
into heavy metal or rock.
Food - As long as it has curry, is spicy, is vegetarian and gives
me a craving it's perfect (the list ranges from Thai to Indian to
Ethiopian to Greek)
The six things I could never do without
1) Family
2) Desserts
3) Music
4) Color
5) A good sleep
6) Conviction & belief
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Getting to my ideal career - which entails working in international
development, spending 3 months of the year in India, 3 months on
the ground in the field, 3 months driving policy in the
headquarters of a multilateral and the final 3 teaching at a
university all of what I learned in the past 9 months!
But besides that I also think a lot about my day, people and their
past baggage and my potential to do all I can and do it well!
On a typical Friday night I am
depends on what my mood is... Ranges from staying in, curled up
listening to some music, watching something interesting or reading
to being out with friends over a good meal or a movie. Going out to
a club doesn't happen often owing to the city I live in but I'd be
up for it as long as I have good, fun-loving people and fantastic
music!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
is for you to discover for yourself.. unravel some of my mysteries!
No point me telling you everything - there have to be some
incentives after all!
You should message me if
I haven't quite yet decided what to make of this site and the
entire 'match' concept and if I'd want some one with a 80% match or
a 50, for all you know opposites attract really well too. So I'm
not going to take this match concept seriously.
Message me if something makes you smile while you read what I've
written or if your gut feeling tells you to or if you just feel
like it and want to see where this goes!
