My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm an extrovert who loves to learn about others. Perhaps that's why I got my Journalism degree from Mizzou. I love a good laugh, especially if I provoked it.

Music is my passion. I play drums, guitar, bass and a little keyboard. I write music for my band and sometimes play a supporting role in other bands. I love to go out and be social, though every once in a while I'll need some down time (i.e. Netflix).

I think I can fool others if I try, but deep down I'm fairly nerdy. This means I pore through album liner notes, try to find hidden levels in video games and know the names of tv/music/video game/pop culture critics. Recently I've diversified my geekiness by cutting back on games and getting into comics.

Finally, I love to run, and I love dogs.

UPDATE: So I've recently come to the determination that I'm bisexual, or at the very least, heteroflexible. I've always harbored some interest, but kind of shied away from acknowledging or acting on it. I still prefer girls, and I'm unsure if I could be romantically into men. It's all fairly new to me and I'm still feeling it out. I'm not ruling out that this is a phase, though I doubt that.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm trying to play as much music as I can. I play with/book for/promote my band, Other People, and recently joined another band called Aquitaine as a drummer. I'm also Stray Dog Theatre's go-to drummer when they produce musicals (we just finished an exhausting but rewarding run of Funny Girl). And I fill in for my dad's band when their drummer can't make it. Finally, I try fit the word "drummer" into my writing as much as possible.

Now that the musical is over, I have a bit more free time to resume writing as a freelancer for Riverfront Times, Eleven and whoever else will have me. Add all that to a good office job, and that's me at the moment.

Now, because I'm a shameless cad, here is my upcoming show schedule. As pathetic as it is to use this site to promote my work, this is actually a good way to get a sense of me without necessarily talking to me. You'll hear my stupid banter on stage, and you can determine whether I really look like I do in the photos:

10/11 Other People at The Demo

10/30 Other People at The Heavy Anchor

11/7 Aquitaine at Off Broadway.

Who knows, you could end up realizing we're a bad fit before we meet and do this to me:
